Discussion: Trump Slams China For Seizing Drone, Calls It 'Unprecedented Act'

President Moran called it an unpresidented act. Unless Melania fixed his misspelling.

Edit: he did fix.

When you use quotes around words, it’s supposed to mean that you’ve taken them verbatim from their source. That’s why you use them, unless you’re being ironic, or designating words as words. Trump did not write “unprecedented act,” so why would you quote it that way? Hard not to see this as cleaning up DJT’s act for him. Have you heard of the word “normalize”?

I’m afraid he’s going to get a lot of people killed.

This is a clear example of the new-found respect with which a Trump-led U.S. will be viewed by the rest of the world. Thanks, America. Smooth move, electing him. Oh, and all you purity morons who were so concerned with Hillary’s bellicosity, thanks to you too. We now have a PEOTUS who’s bellicose and weak. That’s who gets you into wars. Thanks, thanks, thanks so very much.

Maybe he doesn’t know the difference between “unprecedented” and “unpresidented,” or maybe it was just a careless typo.

But, as bad as it is knowing our next POTUS intends to “govern” and “conduct diplomacy” by impulsive tweet, how much worse is it that he doesn’t even have the good sense to have someone else proofread his damned tweets?

This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a typo …

“Unpresidented”? I think the word you’re looking for is “Un-Presidential”

Trump will talk tough until he assumes office. Then he will blame Obama and do nothing.

You keep using that word. It does not mean what you think it means.

Hey, at least The Orange Pustule didn’t tweet “LOL like I wanted that “scientific” data anyway.” Baby steps, people.

POETUS and his ignorant Republican supporters can kiss influence in the Pacific rim good bye.

And he should know. Refusing to release tax returns, refusing to divest himself of his business interests, he’s a parade of unprecedented acts.

(Actually, if he knew anything about history, he’d know that he’s talking through his hat. Take the sinking of the US Navy gunboat Panay by the Japanese in 1937 or the torpedoing of the destroyer Ruben James in October 1941, for just two examples.)

This would be the same country that Bush apologized to because of that little spy plane business, right?

This seems hardly “unpresidented.”

Oh, I hope he encourages the rednecks in Alabama to voluntarily sign up for the ground conflict this walking piece of shit is going to inflict on this country. Should be lots of fun to watch another Republican cakewalk.

More to the point the Hainan Island incident in 2001, when they seized a US spyplane and kept the crew hostage.

Actually that’s kind of comforting, knowing they’re licking their chops at all the money and influence we’re just handing them over the next century or so. It gives me hope they won’t nuke us because they want to keep the gravy train rolling.

I seem to recall when our then , tough-guy President W, toughed it out with China over our downed spy plane. Tough, tough talking W later had to eat his words and apologise to the Chinese government.

You’re right. I forgot that one.

The only thing unprecedented about it was that China didn’t wait until Trump was inaugurated to test him. Dr. Maddow did a great segment on all the times that China has tested every new President going back decades in very similar ways. My take is that this is China’s response to Trump’s call with the President of Taiwan and that President Obama’s remarks yesterday “I advised President-Elect Trump that he might want to get briefed on US foreign policy before he starts having substantive talks with other nations” was a dopeslap to POS PEOTUS that China would appreciate (and that BHO was only too happy to deliver.)
