If anyone thinks anything those kids or their parents said breaks through to tRump’s tiny little shiveled up heart, they’re fooling themselves. He’s wholly incapable of feeling empathy, sympathy or compassion.
Their best bet is pressuring Congress.

I could only watch the first part and it seemed to me they had chosen Trump-friendly witnesses for the most part. Maybe it’s a strategy knowing that he can only listen if you praise him.
Don’t tell me…he gave them a cheesy smile and a double thumbs up before having them ushered out of the building …
They went around the room explaining their experiences…he did give at least one thumbs up that I saw. Yuk.
The Las Vegas shooter didn’t have to go to the concert to shoot 500 plus people. If you’re not dealing with access, you’re deciding to be a nation of target dummies. And this idea of soft targets – when you have a rifle anything in range [that is visible] is a soft target.
On background checks, Trump has suggested he is open to a bipartisan
bill developed in response to a mass shooting at a Texas church. It
would penalize federal agencies that don’t properly report required
records and reward states that comply by providing them with federal
grant preferences.
Well that should solve the problem. Mission accomplished! Federal agencies that don’t report - penalized. States that comply - brownie points.
Wait…I only recall one mass shooter who should have been on the list. How about the other 17, 25, (I’ve lost track)? What’s the plan for them?
Same here. I had to change the channel as it was beginning to break my heart that they had to praise him effusively before telling him how much they hurt and what they wanted done. Like they had been told or coached that that was the only way to reach him. I couldn’t take watching.
Off topic… What’s that thing he does with his hands. Always. It’s been in every photo of him while he’s meeting with dignitaries or other photo ops where he’s sitting. It’s just a thing I noticed months ago.

The one young man with the goatee or van dyke just killed me. He was sitting next to a Sandy Hook mom and he was concerned for her and crying…Oh…that this is what America has come to.
I was also annoyed/appalled that they sat two attractive young girls on either side of him. Made my skin crawl.

AM not impressed with the line up of cabinet chumps attending this photo op for drumpf dotard…You see more compassion and understanding from a wet paper bag. . The staging was abhorrent… and the host was not there to welcome the bereaved. But stumbled in like it was an awards ceremony. CLASSLESS.
The real experts there are the young of Parkland who experienced on the receiving end of the firings of the AR15…and the loss of friends right before their eyes. The parents from SandyHook and Columbine who claimed the mangled bodies of thier children and buried them…
This generation will take control of this not the elected adults…We are organizing to support them with our Womens March members.

Was listening in the car driving home, and the anguish and fear in so many of those voices was ripping my heart out.
And then, I hear the president, who just talks in generalities and platitudes and can’t even say much more than that they are going to do “many more things.” He doesn’t even know enough to be able to speak in detail, and he doesn’t care enough to actually show some leadership on this subject. He looked like he could move heaven and earth for a Big Mac, but meaningful gun reform? Meh.
These kids are going to change things, and I believe a lot of politicians are going to be out of work in the next 2 1/2 years.
