Proving once again that Debt Fears are for suckers. And Democrats. But my Republican’t friends would say I’m being redundant…

The president said he was going to wait to sign it until after Jan. 1 but changed his mind.

Bullshit! He signed it now because Republican’ts added a provision to the bill that keeps the government funded until next month that suspends PAYGO. Had they not done that the PAYGO rules would have triggered automatic cuts to the Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Military and all discretionary spending. But we already know that Trump is a fucking liar…

Some estimates say the cuts could add to the nation’s soaring deficit.

Hmmm, and who could the outlier be, perhaps Munchkin’s napkin scribbles - I mean Mnuchin’s in-depth “analysis” - he slipped to the Republicans just prior to the vote, under pressure?

I thought they were holding off signing it until January because it holds mandatory spending cuts that they wanted to put off until after the 2018 Congressional races.

Here’s where I got that, but there are a bunch of stories from yesterday saying it was happening today. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-12-20/trump-is-said-to-plan-tax-signing-jan-3-due-to-technical-issue

I thought the bill still had to be printed, and there were a bunch of ministerial actions that needed to be taken so that Trump couldn’t sign it just yet and would when he returns to DC from Mar-a-Lago. Also, speculation that he wouldn’t mind a second celebration at signing, to give him the spotlight for a second day after yesterday’s praise-a-thon. What happened?

How to force states and localities to reduce taxes? Remove the SALT deduction…how to increase Blue state federal taxes while reducing Red state federal taxes? Increase the standard deduction while removing the SALT deduction…

The SALT deduction is going to return as this is the biggest attack on state’s (and local) rights in generations. Just think about how the Republicans have decided to force their ideal of taxation on state and local governments with this move…hey, we can all be like Kansas!

Just tells you that they don’t care. As if that’s a surprise.

I read this morning that by signing the bill now instead of waiting until January is that the automatic cuts to Medicaid will happen in 2018 (instead of 2019 if he signed in January). People will be loosing their coverage just in time for the midterms. I’m pretty sure most of the GOP would have preferred waiting another week before signing. Oops.

Trump is so obsessed with size. Makes you wonder…

Kind of odd though…that now he has finally passed something, there isn’t a YUGE signing party. Instead he is slipping out the back door to jet off to Florida.

Does a game of golf really have precedent over his ravenous ego’s need for adulation??

No, but the beautiful chocolate cake at Mar-a-Lago does…

Trump is saying right now that he decided to sign it today because reporters had resurrected his original promise to sign a tax bill by Christmas. If one takes that to be true, then today’s signing (rather than in early January) is all about him as usual. Edit to add: He is really rambling big time as he prepares to sign a picture (yes, a picture) of the bill. The way in which he is repeating the same things over and over really is identical to the verbal patterns of my Dad’s 90-year old buddy who has dementia.

He may not be President that long…

The numbers won’t speak till we see his tax returns.

And his Deutschebank debt.

And his Russia debt.

And the federal guidelines on his prison sentence.

According to this article, http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/congress-holiday-break-after-averting-government-shutdown

The bare-bones CR they just passed includes the waivers on mandatory PAYGO cuts to social programs. One the one hand, I am happy that
Medicaid and other vital programs aren’t being decimated immediately, on the other, all those “must-pass budget resolution negotiations” giving dems so much leverage for DACA just sailed out the window. Poof!

“The numbers will speak.” says the man who lied about donating to veterans charities, lied about the size of his crowd at the inauguration of the russian puppet, and lied about his financial worth. The numbers will speak - on election day 2018
