Discussion: Trump Signal Boosts GOPer Promoting Bogus Claim About Illegal Voting

They claim three million (3,000,000) illegal votes and cannot identify a single person responsible for even one of them.

Lost a lot of respect for CBS this morning when they, likely to appease KAC waiting to be interviewed, avoided the Quinnipiac 36% approval for the ‘by Party’ approve/disapprove (R approve 81%, Dem disapprove 77%).
Sad when a formerly great institution grovels in fear before Nazis…What would Edward R. Murrow think?

“I received death threats!” Ah, well, why dincha say so in the first place? Never mind about the methodology and evidence ‘n’ stuff–death threats! that’s good enough for me!

Let’s see police reports substantiating his claimed “death threats.”

Gregg Phillips claimed in a separate interview with the Clarion-Ledger this week that he has received death threats over his unsubstantiated claims about non-citizens voting.

Kellyanne “Alternative Facts” Conway has also claimed to have received “death threats,” just this week she did it again.

It appears that claiming to have received “death threats” is Team Trump’s latest strategy to distract us from their outrageous declarations and behavior and to garner sympathy.

IMHO this issue is very important to tRump he knows that rigging the election in 2020 might be his best chance of bein re-elected.

So he needs to perpetuate the myth of fraud.

The Chinese have been inventing a lot of hoaxes lately. They’re probably not real hoaxes, though. They’re likely just cheap knockoffs.

“Look forward to seeing final results of VoteStand,” Trump tweeted. “Gregg Phillips and crew say at least 3,000,000 votes were illegal.”

Pretty much the exact number of xtra votes for Clinton. Oh and by the way, there is no “crew”; it’s just this crazy RW fool who can’t hold down a job because of his insane CT.

“Whether you have information or not doesn’t mean I don’t have the information,” Phillips said. “Truth is truth, irrespective.”

Phillips said he would release his full investigation “when the time is right.”

Almost exactly what was said about Pres. Obama’s birth certificate “investigation.”

You know they will support this claim to their own satisfaction.

Why are news outlets in the business of promoting baseless crankery? Why don’t they have rules of basic evidentiary norms to qualify any guest “expert” for on-screen time? And why don’t they institute temporary bans on political operatives who blatantly lie, even if they work in the White House? (Rhetorical Questions Of The Day)

We also don’t know how the alleged voters voted. You can say that it would be in their interest to vote for Clinton, but it was in the Nebraska farmers’ interest to vote for Clinton too, and they voted for Trump.

I respectfully disagree so long as the fact that his claims are bull shit is included as part of the story. It is important to report on this to counter the right wing propagandists who will be reporting on this minus the acknowledgement that it is bull shit.

And to continue to illustrate how out of touch with reality he is.
