" … unlike Michael Cohen, he refused to “break” - make up stories [tell the truth] in order to get a “deal.” Such respect for a brave man [convicted felon]! (because he didn’t RAT on me)."

But Manafort didn’t testify Mr President so he was never put under oath.
How about we put you under oath and ask you some questions - just curious.

How do we gently break it to this dunce…he is a felon convicted on serious charges …all of your rationalization and grandstanding are not going to change the optics or reality. There is more to come next month at his next trial and I suspect it will not get any more favorable in tems of your complicity in his crimes…dying in jail for a complete fuck up seems like a bad way to go…

The only reason individual-1 would pardon manafort before the midterms is if the calculus says the political damage from the second manafort trial would be worse than from the pardon. Right now I think the pardon does more damage.

Geez. This is the kind of things a mob boss says to his closest confidants. Privately.

Or, it’s an official statement of the president of the United States, who by coincidence is the boss of all the law enforcement officers of the land.

Trump has a problem with the timing of this stuff. Typically officeholders are reticent to challenge or betray a President, especially Trump, due to the threat of having a primary opponent propped up and run against them. We’ve seen incumbent Republicans go down in flames for not toeing the line and supporting Trump, come hell or high water. But now the primaries have come and gone for the most part, that threat is hollow or non-existent. Maybe some of them will show some spine, as they’re safe this cycle from retribution.

Trump: Manafort actually won big. Mueller won 8 and lost 10. Thats popular vote!! Why doesnt Obama’s judge give the win to Manafort.

Whenever I put on my tinfoil hat, I imagine that Manafort wanted to flip and the Special Counsel’s Office refused a deal. Flynn probably gave Mueller enough on the Russia/Trump campaign connection, and have enough documentation on Trump’s financial scams. Taking Manafort to trial put into public the type of evidence the SC can gather. The SC is laying the groundwork for when they publicly turn their attention to Trump.

OT - Did TPM update their software yesterday? If they did, they picked the wrong day.

So he is saying Manafort has something to tell.

Give Manafort time, Donnie. He faces another trial and life in prison. He won’t have to make up anything.

I guess I follow a different arithmetic system than the president. Guilty verdicts for false tax returns for 2010 through 2014 seem to me to be more recent than 12 years ago…

Dersh is still hanging in there with Trump saying every candidate commits campaign violations. Not every candidate pays multiple women to stay silent about affairs with him. Also, Stormy Daniels’ civil trial in LA may now be allowed to move forward

Poetic license

The president will also tell you his fingers are 10 inches long.

He is more afraid of the Russians than Mueller.

That might be the only reason Manafort won’t break.

its as if trump has chosen to defend manafort instead of cohen. maybe b/c manafort can do more damage to him as a sitting president then the states//

I suppose that measurement extends elsewhere by proxy…
