Don*t worry Donny-John , when you are Mr Dictator …

Trump: Look at all the stuff I’ve done!
Also Trump: I can’t get anything done because of the filibuster!

And his die-hard fans accept both simultaneously.

Trump is the head of the Republican Party, i.e. the party that preaches that “individuals should take personal responsibility.” That’s hilarious!!!

"[…] Trump is very purposefully setting GOP leaders on Capitol Hill up to take the blame as the President’s agenda continues to stall in the fall. This would help Trump in the future, such as in his 2020 re-election bid …"

Didn’t see this before making my comment about Clapper’s statement, but this setup could also give him an out if he decides to resign. donnie is dumb as a stone, but he is practiced at looking out for himself. His level of dishonesty and criminality would require at least that skill.

“Senate Republicans are surprised Trump is so focused on throwing bombs at members of his own party, even as the administration works closely with GOP leaders on tax reform.”

Which is ridiculous since Trump spent the entirety of 2015 and 2016 throwing bombs at any Republican who didn’t obsequiously kiss his ass.

lol. Both he and his Republican Congress own all the bad things happening in this country. They chose the devil and can’t get him off their backs.

8 Dems control the Senate!

I see where he’s getting it, but it still makes absolutely no sense.

I’m sorry but…he’s only setting himself up for failure, just as he did with casinos, steaks, airliners, clothing, you name it!

A poll I saw yesterday reported that most republicans blame congressional republicans for the failure to pass legislation, not Trump. And really, as far as “Repeal and Replace” is concerned, they should get the blame. They’ve been whining about it for seven years and couldn’t come up with a viable alternative when push came to shove, which is a good thing because everything offered was far worse for the American public. Trump certainly didn’t help, and won’t be much help in the future. But that isn’t necessarily bad because their agenda SUCKS.

What agenda? Erasing the Obama legacy? Grifting? Shutting down the Russia investigation?

I think this goes beyond Trump’s inability to pass any significant bills. Beyond lip service, I honestly don’t know if Trump even cares if anything gets passed.

No, with Trump, all roads lead to Russia. Something must be happening behind the scenes that involves McConnell and the Russia probe. We already know, for example, Trump called McConnell in an attempt to obstruct the investigation. What else must be going on?

That doesn’t make sense the dems won’t enact his agenda, so he’s going to run against the GOP the folks he needs to get his agenda through?

Does any of this make sense?

There was no filibuster. The cloture vote was never held at all! The Majority Leader jumped straight to reconciliation, on the mere absence of 60 affirmative, personal assurances of aye votes.

Reform the filibuster by voting, and having one.

At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist (what hath Trump wrought on us!) But I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re onto something here.

Maybe Mitch is not protecting Trump anymore in Russia. And Trump is trying to muddle the waters so that when McConnell does flip on him he can claim it’s because McConnell is pissed that Trump was asking him to do his job.

Blaming others is classic Trump strategy.
