Discussion: Trump Sends Sympathies To ‘Financial Institutions’ Over Consumer Agency

“The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or CFPB, has been a total disaster success as run by the previous Administrations pick. Financial Institutions have been devastated and unable to properly serve screw the public. We will bring it back to life kill it!”

Fixed it for you, Donald.

Everything was structured for its independence.

An obvious abuse of legislative authority to create an independent agency outside the control of the executive. How is a wannabe dictator supposed to operate under such a corrupt system?

So anyone who still thinks working class voters voted for Trump and David Duke because of economic anxiety and are upset that the system is rigged against them can shut up now.

Because their hero would rather defend financial institutions that have lied, cheated, and stolen from regular people than help those same folk. And those people will still vote for Trump…gee, I wonder why?

This is like defending the robber baron from the poor kids in the orphanage.

Poor confused Trump. He actually thinks he’s appointing a new Director of the Financial Institutions Protection Bureau. Which exists only in his own mind. It’s so easy for him to confuse “consumer protection” with “financial institution protection.” They sound so much alike. And besides, financial institutions are people, too. Just ask Mitt Romney.

At least 20 times a day I wish I could reach through the screen and smack the crap out of him. But then I’d have to touch him, so no.

I have some bamboo poles you can use, not quite 10" but should do the trick if all those Japanese ninja flicks are correct.

So much for draining the swamp, taking on Wall Street or standing up for ordinary Americans. Nothing new in that, of course, but each time he reveal his true self, a few more people will wake up.

Sorry, I find it very hard to have any sympathy whatsoever for the financial industries that have been systematically fleecing the American public for years, just like Trump himself. Most of the executives of those industries belong in jail!

Much quicker than he has sent “sympathies” to families of those killed by right wing terrorists.

I sure hope you’re right.

Strongly suspect that is true. If he didn’t have money and position, he would be a forgotten little man trying to make everyone see him as important at whatever little job he had.

I pay little attention to and am (almost) completely immunized against anything Trump says/tweets because it’s 99.9% bullshit, both in the epistemological and ethical sense that Harry Frankfort defines it and in the simple sense that it is a waste of time because what Trump believes at any given moment could change a moment later and, not only change, but be forgotten by him and denied as if it had never been.
