Hey, it takes time to process checks!

Wait, what kind of agencies are involved with the President’s personal dispersal of funds? I thought Congress was in charge of budgets. Can we have months of tiresome committee investigations?

Gigantic, massive, incredible shout outs to fearless Wa Po reporters Dan Lamothe, Lindsey Bever and Eli Rosenberg. Moron made to give money to an American family instead of ripping off an American family.

WHY? WHY? is the President of the United States sending a high profile personal check to a family who has lost a son in service to the country. Yes - there may have been unique circumstances - but this is monumentally wrong on so many levels. A president with a sense of decorum would have accomplished this in a totally anonymous manner.
This is tacky - there is no price tag on such a loss - and the moment of loss should be given the dignity that it deserves.
The issue here is not that the check was late - NO the the issue is the absurdly tone deaf behavior of Trump.
Leave it to Trump to monetize even the supreme sacrifice of a patriotic American soldier.

Trump is incapable of comprehending that he is serving in the official role of the President of the United States - and he constantly confuses it with his private life.

Paypal “gift” would have been classy.

This is obviously a rhetorical question because all we have is “Why did his presidency happen?” so everything that happens in it flows from that, which for me, is a heartbreaking question.

A back-dated check! Classic! Ever the role model for low-lifes and chiselers, ladies and gentlemen…your president!

Be fair—he did it so quietly that he didn’t do it at all, until he was forced to. So it’s really not his fault.

Gimme a break! The Asshole-elect tried to stiff these people like he has cheated thousands of creditors through out his life. He’s a deadbeat. That’s why no bank, except those with Russian ties, will lend to him. Sad.

I am going to just assume that Trump took the money not from his own pocket, but from campaign donors.

@sickneffintired

If it wasn’t done publicly using his world-famous Sharpie, like all those things he signed in the Oval Office and then waved them around, it would be as if he hadn’t done it at all.

“I am glad my legal counsel has been able to finally approve this contribution to you.”

Always somebody else’s fault. In their defense, DT’s lawyers are charged with finding ways not to pay so this was outside their wheelhouse.

Long report about the other soldiers who died in Niger. We know Sgt. Johnson’s name well, and a lot about his life, but if you read this about the other three, Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright, Staff Sgt. Bryan Black and Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson, you’ll know more about them than moron does

@mattinpa Staff Sgt. Dustin M. Wright, 29, was a class clown who could quote just about any comedy movie; a short and chubby child, he grew up into a fearsome Green Beret and was preparing for a future with a girlfriend in Philadelphia.

Not a story until the check clears. And why wasn’t that letter sacred, kept private from the MSM?

Bad precedent. Very bad.
