Discussion: Trump Seems To Really Want Russia Back In The G-7: 'It Would Be An Asset'

I have also developed a whole new appreciation for the word bloviating.

Putin: Deliver or else!

He’s nuts. The Russian bit ain’t the half of it.

Oh, we know Donny, we know.

His exit statements from the G7 meeting were unhingedly disastrous. Daniel Dale has the blow by blow starting here. Also, he showed up 17 minutes late and Trudeau started without him saying “we don’t wait for stragglers.”

Geezus, this guy is an embarrassment.

Ah…so it’s not Putin’s fault Russia took Crimea, but Obama’s (which speaks volumes about Trump’s world view).
[/quote]Obama made Putin take Crimea and have desires to take other parts of Ukraine.
He didn’t want to do it but because of Obama he just couldn’t help himself.

I think it was the way Obama was dressed. And that when he said “no” he really meant “yes.”

I vote most vehemently for the first one.

Sooner better, how don’t really care.

And it says “suffer” so I’m all in for that too. And that goes for the rest of them, Nunes McConnell Guiliani Conway Pence, all of them.

“I think it would be an asset to have Russia back in. I think it would
be good for the world. I think it would be good for Russia. I think it
would be good for the United States. I think it would be good for all of
the countries of the current G-7.

I wonder if he can even name all the countries in the G-7–even being at the G-7 summit!

This video pretty much summarizes the entire Trump Crime Family…

And he lost the handshake game against Macron again.

“Oooo, that left a mark.”

Trump still is just the symptom, not the disease.

The disease is the Party of True Americans who pioneered flag lapel pins. Where are they in all of this? The Party of McCarthy would never bow to our biggest rival on the planet.

That they aren’t speaking up against this patently un-American speech speaks volumes in and of itself.

But the party of McConnell sure as hell is…

Look, it’s very simple. Trump wants Russia and the USA to operate as the new Axis Powers, with Israel, the Philippines and other asshole authoritarian states to play the part of Romania, Vichy France, etc. He really wants the USA to be a dark, authoritarian global overlord opposed to the forces of democracy and liberalism. Canada, the EU and (in due course) Japan will be the bad guys. China and Turkey are the wild cards. Trade wars will be waged, followed if necessary by military wars. And let’s face it, an aggressive military alliance of Russia and the United States could pretty much dominate everywhere, since nobody else is going to be crazy enough to deploy their nukes. The national and economic security implications are catastrophic.

I would say that this is bound to fail, because Americans are decent folks, but unfortunately one’s suspicions that over half the country suffers from a serious case of ignorance, indifference, and moral debasement that comes from being an ultra-consumeristic, ultra-powerful nation have been largely borne out. I’m not just talking about the GOP base. I’m talking about the tens of millions of shoulder-shruggers who can’t be bothered to vote. Just look at the way we have recently decimated Iraq, Syria, Palestine. These wars can’t be effectively criticized without reference to the small number of deaths of US troops. The millions killed or displaced as a result of our actions don’t even make it into our discussion of these events. The humanization of other peoples just isn’t part of our culture, not even in liberal circles. Trump could blow up Toronto or London and half the country would fall into the spectrum ranging from ‘Fuck em/I don’t want to think about it/This is a worry because US troops might get hurt.’

That still leaves around half the country horrified/opposed–and still forced to channel this opposition into talk of domestic healthcare prospects, domestic setbacks, because apparently to point out to people that we’re turning into a full-blown, dark, destructive empire just doesn’t move people to concern. We have culture that’s highly complacent, highly complicit. We wouldn’t even fight the Nazis until they bombed Hawaii. We wouldn’t end slavery until we fought a civil war.

I’m not saying that all is lost. Far from it. We still have a lot of smart, active, right-thinking people in this country. I’m just saying that we have to factor into the resistance, or whatever you want to call it, a certain profound latent human and societal darkness. The atrocious history of humanity applies to us. It always has.

Trump coming in to the meeting disruptively, 17 minutes late. IMF director Christine LaGarde looks, “WTF”. The other leaders glared at him.

He’s a blatant, in-your-face asset of Russian military intelligence. We’re a sick society right now, and we may not make it.

Fat ass pig. They should’ve locked him out for being late.

Don’t miss the one where Trumpp called NAFTA “a threesome.”

Trump on NAFTA: "We'll either leave it the way it is as a threesome deal with Canada, the United States and Mexico, and change it very substantially..." or separate deals with Canada and Mexico.

Hey, he was 17 minutes late because he had to call Putin, get his talking points together. Give the poor man a break.

…Do love the disgusted look from Merkel.

Hey, at least Dotard is very consistent…

No. I believe him. For example, I knew before even thirty seconds that Trump would be a uniquely horrible and despotic President. And, if anything, he’s been worse, much worse.

The general theory is that it was done purposely as one of his little dominance performance art, “hey, look at me, it’s all about meee” displays.

Fucking putz.

Bet the guy behind Dotard has his smart phone camera on panoramic view to fully capture the grandeur and expanse of the POTUSASS.
