Well, Donald Jr. should have been indicted based on the public evidence regarding his Trump Tower meeting, related lies, and Wikileaks communications. This doesn’t make sense considering Roger Stone was indicted and there are outstanding case v Concord and another foreign company, among a myriad of other avenues we were led to believe through press reports Mueller was chasing.
Interesting timing here. Barr’s in the job less than a week and investigation ends.
I can’t speak for the rest of the folks who voted for Hillary, but if he gets away with it, it will raise my hatred of the man from a red dwarf to blue supergiant level. And I will crawl naked over a cooling lava flow to vote against the bastard. But this will be at the expense of having little faith left in our constitution as a device for wise governance of a democracy, but rather as an owner’s manual for plutocracy.
Trump’s words have no meaning other than to express the reality he wants everyone to embrace. He’s lying, he always lies, and what he really believes is Barr will do exactly what he tells him to do. Which he won’t.
A) Barr won’t break the law. He will try to protect Trump, but I believe he can’t legally do enough to protect the Trump Crime Family from prosecution.
B) Indictments are public. Only Mueller can get them redacted, and only if the judge agrees that pending investigations require it.
C) Pelosi is ready for all of this.
D) Watergate road map. Google it.
Brace for some explosive indictments. My money says this Friday will be a doozy. Popcorn futures are already going through the roof.
Might take the money off the table and put it down for 1 March.
The Hanoi Summit is scheduled for 27-28 Feb.
Unless the Deep State intention is for Trump to be out of office before then, they’ll likely keep that planned visit in mind before indicting his kid and in-law.
If anyone would like to nail down the “truism” that “Barr can stop Everything”…here is a simple test…

11 PM: Brian Williams comes on and states that there is Breaking News: The Mueller Investigation Has Been Shut Down and the Results Sealed for Two Years
Funny that. If I were to try to be charming, I’d pick Ricardo Montalban to emulate. “Perhaps you would care to visit my hacienda sometime and examine my soft Corinthian leather?”
ETA. My parents, being typical Brits were fascinated by all things relating to Spain or things Spanish. My mom loved Ricardo (Yes, I know he was born in Mexico not Spain) and he almost made my dad switch from GM to Chrysler, or whatever brand Ricardo was pitching.
I think the bigger fear is that the report comes out, but enough about Trump (as an uncharged individual) is excised that it gives Republicans in the Senate a fig leaf of cover to call ‘nothingberder’ and refuse to do anything about him.
So, for example, when Jr. ran upstairs to tell his daddy all about the great dirt the russkies were bringing on Clinton and wasn’t his daddy so proud of him… well, the report may excise all of that, and just leave it with Jr.'s indictment.
I am not that jaded. This has been another example, the supreme one, of stretching the spirit of the law until it screams. No system, as good as it may be, is incapable of being manipulated. It is just not possible and still have a system that can be considered humane and adapatable. The problem is what permitted a man of this low caliber to be in a position to exploit it. Everything from marginal communities of people, social media, foreign manipulation, ignorance and a slow insinuation of malplayers came together with other factors to permit it. Each opportunity was something people were blind to. There may have been the Paul Reveres out there, but they did not get the voice they should have. Media’s need and perception of balanced reporting was a big factor in this as an example.
My feeling is Mueller was waiting for an actual legit lawyer (vs a hot tub salesman) in the AG office before he did anything serious. My gut also says there is something of a palace coop in the making.
Trump is dangerous. Mueller knows this. So does Barr. So does whoever convinced Trump to appoint Barr. So does pretty much everyone, including the self serving cowards enabling him, especially Turtle.
Mueller WILL indict Kushner and Jr., at a minimum, and Trump WILL flip OUT. These events are a given. What happens after that will be interesting. Mueller will, no doubt, have set up multiple state AG’s with evidence to throw multiple unpardonable state charges at Trump’s family as well. The instant Trump leaves office, he too will be indicted. The dictatorship he dreams of is not on the horizon.
I am interested to see what Mueller has up his sleeve, what Pelosi has up her sleeve, when Turtle will feed Trump to the wolves, and timing, timing, timing.
Trump only cares about himself, and will only pressure Barr to protect Trump. Unfortunately, Trump by himself does way too much damage to our national security and our society, and he’ll just assemble a new wave of corrupt incompetents to staff government while he pursues his crude grifting.
We need Mueller to take Trump down, or to weaken him sufficiently that the Senate GOP can’t defend him. Anything short of that leaves our nuclear codes, our election security, our infrastructure, and everything else, in the hands of Putin and the Axis of Kleptocracy that he leads.
Mueller has GOT to know what you say as well…so my mind tells me that Trump can mail it in. He’s done. But I never GREW UP in this country. so I don’t have the sense as to that these jokers have up their sleeve (compared to some of the mavens on this site).
Political relations in the U.S, are dependent on hundreds of micro-level interactions often at local levels and often based on relations, favors and the like.
I remain steadfast in my belief that Trump is too harmful to our society to be allowed to continue as president.
Well me, I love the air of unconcern. “From what I understand,” oh man I love it. After all the screeching and bellowing, suddenly it’s just kind of out there somewhere, not really anything to do with him, one of those bureaucratic things, reports, updates, summaries, the endless reams of information that are always chugging out of the Report-O-Matic and getting filed away. Anyway I tend to agree with the folks who say this thing has metastasized beyond the point of suppression. Anyone who’s been paying attention has a rough idea what went on and is still going on. There’s too much, and no benign explanation. And we have to remember that Mueller was charged with investigating and making a report to the DOJ, not do an Old Testament denunciation from a mountaintop. We have the House now. That’ll be enough.
