Donald, the racist, should not have been allowed anywhere near the museum, let alone give a speech…
Hideous man!
This coward of a man dares to speak on behalf of heroic civil rights workers while campaigning against a man who prosecuted KKK church bomb murderers.
“Mayor Chokwe Lumumba”
Bet those words didn’t cross Trump’s lips, though they may have curled his toes.
ETA: Yuck, I just wrote something about Trump’s lips and toes. Gonna have to throw a penalty flag on myself for that one.
Trump’s eloquence is unmatched…
I can see his followers telling themselves that today’s photo op – did Omarosa write that speech? – on the heels of last night’s Nuremberg rally only speak to our beloved POTUS’ versatility! Ability to straddle the breech and bring folks together. Come to think of it, can’t imagine them being able to do any of that. And then naturally no interest in hiding who they are anymore so really why bother? It’s all good because … First Amendment! Evidently, it’s all good and really neighborhood specific. Plus Trump is just like Lincoln! Cuz he said so!
How much longer until our other, you know, leaders can bear to tell us what we already know – plus maybe even do something about the great big IT in the room that no one is impolite enough to mention? This guy is stark raving mad. Guess it’ll take a calamity to get the other big boys and girls to step in and deal with this daily horror show. By removing our Mad King from office. Shame on everyone and anyone in a leadership position downtown who refuses to join in that effort.
Was Trump’s good friend, Frederick Douglass, there?
He just looks dumbfounded / confused as usual. Somebody made a wise decision and wouldn’t let him grandstand.
It appears his hijacking of the event was severely limited due to popular demand. But he did get to wander around looking at photos of civil rights heroes accompanied by a bunch of crackers and Uncle Ben, and witnessing a standing ovation for Myrlie Evers, something I suspect he himself didn’t receive. Poor bastard.
The rest of his day will no doubt be spent fuming, launching copious quantities of half-chewed Big Mac and Filet-O-Fish all over Hair Farce One as he rails about “those ungrateful blacks” all the way back to Miami. Poor, poor bastard.
Story’s photo caption: While pretending to read the inscriptions, trump scowls as he sees the image of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Meanwhile Trump’s token, Sec Carson, is left standing in the background, only able to see that display be looking over Dotard’s shoulder.
Does anyone know how tRump got invited to the opening to start with? Who thought this would be a good idea?
The state’s attorney general, Jim Hood, criticized Republican Gov. Phil Bryant for inviting Trump.
If only @mattinpa was his speechwriter. He could’ve made this memorable comment:
“And allow me to say in conclusion, this was all very uplifting and beautiful and I’ve noted it with barely any reference to racism in the recent past or today, or suggesting that there’s more work to do.”
The only memorable comment.
Could have been worse. He could have designated the grounds for placement of the South’s Civil War “hero” statues.
…by everything Trump does. Trump’s actions throughout his life, and especially since campaigning for and becoming our alt-president contradict everything he says about freedom, equality, liberty and most especially, civil rights.
The intellectual and moral IQ of this country falls every time he opens his mouth.
The Repub Governor. I think it was a rather last minute invite.
There is only so much unmitigated BS a person can stomach at one time.
