Ok this is early and maybe not enough coffee, but here it goes.
When did American politics devolve into Shi’a vs. Sunni fight for control of Islam? We are no longer looking for good men and women of conscience to send to Washington to govern our great nation. We dehumanize those that have the least in our society, we argue over “the morality” of a problem and not how to fix the problem. Hell we can’t even agree what our country’s priorities are or should be. We have rich individuals, the Koch brothers playing the Saudis with money and a form of political ideology that is extreme on many fronts. And like the Kingdom of Saud we even have a state or two governed in whole or part by their extreme political model. We have our radicalized members of both parties that would rather “burn this mother*ker down” than try and reach compromise. And now we have a minority of Americans that feel left out, over looked, flocking to the Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi with his own version of political governing. A character of shady dealings, self aggrandizement, and who deals with opposition to his authority with threats of violence and jail.
So when will we get back to any form of normal, sane, rational governing?

This is not the first rodeo for the Dixiecrat-GOP alliance electing a totally ignorant person President. Ronald Reagan was possibly the most policy disengaged, detail not oriented candidate and president in generations. They didnt care then and they dont care now.

To me, this encapsulates Trump so well. He cannot admit fault,and when asked about a regret, he immediately lashes out telling Stephanopoulos what he should regret. And uses donating money to a charity that actually does good work as the example.

And he would be alive WHY? Because Trump would have stayed in Iraq without the SOFA? Stayed out of Afghanistan? Not gone after Bin Laden? Annihilated Syria first off? Which scenario does the cowardly man-child think he would have ‘prevented’?
This man’s stupidity is relentless. He just can’t let it go. He completely has lost track of why he’s even talking about Humayun Khan in the first place. Even with just 10 days left in the general election campaign he’s still stuck in primary campaign mode trying to secure his base supporters by appealing to their ‘base’ instincts. He has no concept that everything he says here is greatly offensive to anyone with a sense of decency. Instead, he just reflexively digs deeper and deeper holes for himself.

That is Donald Trump’s attempt at compassion. Mr. Khan is correct, he is insincere. He does not have the compassion gene. He is a fake and a manipulator. He is good at it, he manipulated all the people who believe he is in their corner.

One of the biggest FAILs of the American media machine has been the complete inability to notice this. tRump is both running on and running against the entire Republican platform of the past 30 years.
My sense is that many in the media machine don’t notice, and many who do, don’t care because they’re just more interested in the drama and its ability to generate clicks. But yes, it’s a terrible missed opportunity to point out an abject stupidity shared by 35-40% of the whole electorate.

Trump wants to be an isolationist. To withdraw from the world. That is exactly what Russia wants us to do so that they can then be the preeminent world power. That’s trump making America great folks.
And Donnie, my advice to you is …leave that Gold Star family alone. There is no curse strong enough to describe your arrogance. The Khan family has every right to criticize you. They do not deserve what you say about them. As I said if I knew a strong enough curse word to use here…I would.
