Discussion: Trump Says He's Not 'Morally Obligated' To Defend Obama

Oh, that’s easy. Most of the GOP “base” Christians are not moral either … so, not even a question for them.

Muchas Gracias emiliano.

This is some pretty bad stuff we are witnessing and I have a feeling it will get much worse. Personally I think it can only benefit the Democrats.

Actually pricks serve a purpose … Trump, not so much.

The problem with that is the people who need to read it will never and no one in the media has the guts to point out how Hitler gathered his support

Actually he really did have a deal to finalize in New York. He was buying the Brooklyn Bridge.

Ahhh!

So if they are not concern with morality then why are they defending their stance against same-sex marriage? From what I understand its because their views are solely based on moral principals.

If it is not based on their ‘religious values’, then they are nothing more the ‘heretics’ among our society.

I think we need to also look at the other side of the electoral coin. I’m not sure that Democratic turnout will be what it needs to be, especially if Sanders is the nominee.

The only player on the NPR team with the tools to negotiate the egoderp of the Trump campaign would be Don Goneya, the lone public media journalist with credentials to cover the GW Bush administration.

I’ll go with chickenshit chickenhawk.

You can always tell when Trump realizes dimly that he screwed something up (or rather, that everyone else noticed he screwed something up). He tweets and tweets and tweets. Like an angry bird.

I think Obama would defend him against a blatant lie, like “Trump’s mother is an orangutan”.

Just “controversial or nasty”; not so much.

Edit: When was the last time we saw the Donald go to a church service? And sit through the whole thing. Maybe he’s a closet atheist.

You stated the facts here quite nicely. I’m talking about the fanatics – not the folks who take to heart the ‘Gospels of Jesus Christ.’ Christ always made it clear that one’s fellowship with Him was to be between them and Himself, not Himself and Caesar.

“The Know-Nothing Party intended to prevent Catholics and immigrants from being elected to political offices. Its members also hoped to deny these people jobs in the private sector, arguing that the nation’s business owners needed to employ true Americans.”

Jeebus, where have I heard that before (think it was yesterday in fact)?

Contrast with John McCain is notable.

I wish republicans would get clear about how the first amendment works. Trump doesn’t represent the government in any way (thank god) and therefore is incapable of interfering with the right of free speech.

What do you expect from a pig? Really!

Correction: you are not obligated. As for the morality of your decision, you don’t have the credentials to weigh in on that with any credibility whatsoever.

Am I morally obligated to defend the president every time somebody says something bad or controversial about him?" Trump wrote in a rant on Twitter. “I don’t think so!”

DT reminds us of the sin of silence in the 1930’s.

But in fairness to DT, the other GOP loons would agree with him.

Vote GOP, lose your soul!
