Discussion: Trump Says He'll Be 'Restrained' With His Twitter Use As President

Trump loves the ease with which Twitter allows him to share his puerile comments and petty insults with the American people.

I’ll only horrify you with my unfiltered insanity once a week, whether I need to or not.

Yeah, just like he’s restrained with the gold leaf and fomenting hatred.

While most Presidents choose press conferences, Trump loves Twitter because it removes all form of critiquing from his pronouncements: no fact-checking, no follow-up questions, no requests for clarification. It’s not a dialogue and makes no pretense thereof. The id in all its glory, unrestrained and unfettered.

The fact that the American public is not uniformly repelled by this man’s pathetic tweeting is Impetus Number One for considering a new international address.

I most certainly hope he is not restrained. For goodness, sake, Mr. Trump, your peeps voted for you because you bark and snarl!

Only when he’s in his straight jacket.

Awww…Little Donnie just threatened to Tweet, if CBS ever does critical reporting on the Clusterfuck about to be experienced by the country and the world.

He really does think he is on a Reality TV show. Too bad he never served as City Councilman, or Mayor or State Assemblyman, or anything really to give him an idea of what scrutiny feels like.

This story, as well as every single story which has come out about this man to-day, fills me with horror, not because of just the story but because, as the days pass, Trump will become more and more resistant to control.

I just read Josh’s latest post.

Yes, let’s talk about how Clinton’s loss can be blamed on her campaign.

well, i think i remember him playing one in a ski oncet. or was that alec baldwin?

I think we can thank, once again, the George Bush/Dick Cheney (or vice versa) administration for this lovely state of affairs.

Wow.

Yeah. “Restrained.” That should work well. I can see it now:

No, we blame Reagan, for signing away the Fairness Doctrine. That begat Rush, which begat Fox, which begat George W. Bush, which eventually led us here.

Imagine if every piece of Right Wing propaganda on Fox had to be countered with airtime from the Left.

Well, the Middle East is certainly effed up because of the wars the United States started.

I should have realized when those morons in Kansas were trying to kill Syrian refugees that the anger about giving them refuge and economic help was a thing, thanks to Fox, right wing radio and loony internet sites.

This country was mostly responsible for thousands of people being displaced, to say nothing of the huge numbers killed, and the dumbasses here are worried that someone might get a free loaf of bread after losing absolutely everything.

Ashamed of this country. Totally ashamed.

Edit: No, ashamed of certain leadership and the obscene amounts of money that own America.

There. Not going to change. Ever.

Once pants stain Drumph gets to see the complexity of the job he will sit in his bedroom at the White House tweeting while Dense Pence does the heavy lifting.

So, no understanding - again - of federal record-keeping laws.

The words “trump” and “restrained” in the same sentence??? WTF???. If he does get hold of a unencumbered phone he could run afoul of the law and risk national security. The NSA, CIA, Secret Service and a host of others won’t let him have his phone or a computer with free access to the web without a shit load of security features that will make twittering damned hard…

It’s no accident that CBS scored the first interview. They were relentless with their false equivalencies and innuendo. After this and after being a long, long time viewer of Charlies Rose and the regular CBS news, I’ve have moved on to ABC and PBS.
