Iâm pretty sure everyone is âpro-lifeâ if askedâŚ
does he really mean pro-forcing women to carry to term whether itâs appropriate or not and whether they choose to or not?
because, you know, men know bestâŚ
Republicans: âLetting President Obama, a constitutional law scholar, pick the next Supreme Court justice would be YOOOOOOGELYâ irresponsibleâŚWe need to let a bankruptcy expert TV reality star make it! That would be the responsible thing to do.â

What a shock!
Wha? 5 SC judges? Does he not realize that he wouldnât be firing them, heâd be filling vacancies?
I was thinking âbumped off with extreme prejudice.â
ââŚit could be as many as five judges will be appointed over the next four and a half years, so weâre talking about five judges,â
Whaaa?? Okay, I need help deciphering this bit of garble. Is he saying the Presidentâs term is now 4 1/2 years? Or is he including now, because Black Democratic Presidents arenât allowed to appoint Justices in their final yearâŚbut apparently white bigoted Presidents would be allowed?
And FIVE Justices? Does he think the President gets to summarily execute someone on the Court or force them to resign every year? Thomas better keep an eye over his shoulder around Trump.
âIâm going to put conservative judges on, I think one of the biggest things happening in terms of this election are, you know, it could be as many as five judges will be appointed over the next four and a half years, so weâre talking about five judges.â
Why only five judges? He could appoint seven, or even ten judges! Why, it might even be thirty new SCOTUS judges!
I realize what Iâm about to say is extremely evident but Rump has no way, at all, to see the world other than how heâs shaped his. I have no doubt that he sees choosing SCOTUS replacements in the same vein of The Apprentice. For him, it would just be another version of a reality tv show.
This is how he thinks. He doesnât understand other ways of working / operating / living and he refuses to try to learn.
I donât think his favorite judge, Judy Sheindlin, is anti-choice.
One thing about T-Rump: He doesnât pretend that thereâs any of this âjust calling balls and strikesâ crap that we hear from so-called conservative jurists in his judgment. Nope, give him more partisanship in the supposedly impartial courts.
Ah, Subtlety, thy name is Donald. This is sure to reel in those wavering fundies.
This man turned bullshit into an art form.
I donât think he has a good grasp of what the GOP establishment wants in a SCOTUS appt. The anti-choice shit is only a superficial covering for their base. What they really want in a SCOTUS appt is a justice who is deferential to corporate and authoritarian government interests.
Trump: That justice will allow exceptions to these rules. You will need to make a deal to get an exception, just like in real life.
This. Could we at least at TPM try not to repeat with a straight face all of the dishonest terms that the right has worked so hard to insert into the public discourse? âPro-lifeâ judges regularly vote to uphold capital punishment, to immunize businesses from liability for killing people, for pretty much everything pro-death except if itâs a fetus.
Also on the list: âreformâ, whether it be social security, education, liability lawâŚ
âWell, theyâll be pro-life and weâll see about overturning,â Trump responded.
Also, there will be a 50 state jobs project, involving the construction of several million closets.

DETROIT -
A Detroit grandmother is in police custody this morning after her 4-year-old granddaughter was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to officials, the little girl apparently found the hand gun hidden under the grandmotherâs pillow.
A one and 3-year-old were also in the home when the shooting happened Tuesday evening.
Neither was harmed in the incident.
Itâs not clear where the girlâs parents were at the time of the shooting.
I long ago stopped trying to make sense of whatâs coming out of the guyâs mouthâŚ
We shouldnât play on the other sideâs field by referring to the abortion prohibition position as âpro-life.â For one thing, it implies that anyone who supports legal abortion is âanti-life.â
I think the correct term for that position is âabortion prohibitionist.â Thatâs what they want to do - to make abortion illegal.
