Heās got an excellent point. But Jesus, this stuff, itās just sad. No snark, I mean it, itās just pathetic and sad. It feels like an end stage, like thereās no way back or forward from this pathetic wallowing in obvious guilt. Newellās astute so heād have a good comeback to that. Maybe heād say weāre just in a weird place right now, like when Wilson had his stroke, and itāll be over when itās over.

For many purposes, arenāt we already kind of there? The once all-powerful executive branch is shouting at a bush in the corner and the country has, miraculously, mostly gone on as usual.
Just so long as there are no major international incidents or an economic collapse, we might survive all four years (in a state that will be diminished for at least a generation) just teetering on the precipice.
I donāt know about collusion but I think theyāve finally pounded through that skull a beginning of an understanding that obstruction is a no-no.
In terms of incapacity, no doubt. But the end-stage talk was about resolution, I think. Certainly thatās how I read the Davidson piece in The New Yorker. Obviously we all hope and pray the midterms will move us away from that precipice a bit.
