Discussion: Trump Says East Coast Could Use 'Good Old Global Warming' Amid Cold Snap

Interesting. They are still ignoring the biggest news issue on twitter last night and this morning, namely the “interview” he gave the NYT yesterday.

“It’s cold outside, therefore global warming/climate change is fake” is more or less ironclad prima facie evidence the person saying it is a stupid motherfucker.

Once again, Trump proves that ignorance is not bliss.

You mean the one where he terms the DOJ his own personal playground…?

Days without being an international embarrassment: still locked in at zero point zero.

Dumbfuck drunk rambling uncle at Thanksgiving is running the country! Great idea!

Yes…that one. Where he declares 16 times that there is no collusion. And that every Dem backs him up on that.

And the NYT doesn’t offer even the slightest of pushback. To him at least. Maggie the Fluffer went off the chain last night on twitter attacking everyone for even daring to suggest that the NYT should have asked even a softball question of her client.

I stole this from a fellow TPMer, forgot who, but thanks!
The song titles “Ramble On” and “Ramblin’ Man” and the old car, the Rambler, come to mind when reading that NYT piece.

Of the Mueller probe, Trump said “So the sooner it’s worked out, the better it is for the country.”

I couldn’t agree more.

He indicated that he believes the DoJ (indeed, all of government) works for him personally, and he can fire everyone if he so sees fit.

I think he is getting close to the point of throwing off the leash his lawyers are trying to keep him on. Another round of indictments drop, and he is going to start firing people left and right.

And then we’ll see the extent and effectiveness of castrations in the Congress.
This is something he has expressed before, from the first days of his so-called presidency. I really think his knowledge and understanding of government is so limited that he actually believes it to be true in some way.

But when have we gone from Trump being just a dunce. to Putin’s Puppet, to the person sitting in the Oval Office being “managed”? It’s getting hard for me to track when he is just an idiot, to his is just an idiot because the info he receives makes him look like an idiot, and then back again to he’s just idiot.

At least at Thanksgiving Dinner, and I know it’s a longshot, you can hope the Drunken Uncle will pass out in the bathroom and drown face down in the toilet.

Most assuredly. To him, the Federal government is just a bigger Trump Org. That is why he is so concerned with people swearing loyalty to him, and why he makes his cabinet and VP routinely hold grovelling sessions for the press.

Ironically, he actually complimented a Black man in the interview. He believed that Holder worked to protect Obama (he didn’t), and he has great respect for him doing that. It was of course, him throwing more shade at Sessions, but it also circles back to this basic belief he has that not only does everyone work for him, they all owe him their complete loyalty.

This one misconception is going to be his undoing. I think the notion of him resigning next year largely hinges on somebody being able to break through this belief and wrapping his head around the fact that Congress in particular doesn’t work for him, and a Democratic Congress will be coming after him aggressively. That the rules he holds in such disdain will actually be enforced. And life will become very, very unpleasant.

But I also think the likelihood of someone breaking through his misconceptions is very low. We can certainly cross off the list of possibilities any NYT reporter politely pointing out he is wrong.

He’s been a president his whole life. Gosh, why would this one work any differently?

But seriously, I don’t think anybody disputes that this is the case. He doesn’t know what a government of the people is, and how it’s not just a big company.

Maybe we should demand that our prospective leaders of the highest level of government have some sort of experience in government work? Even a little? Nahhhh.

Donnie insists that global climate change is a hoax … all while demanding that a seawall be built at his coastal golf course in Ireland to protect against rising sea levels.
