Let me guess—the sources are all anonymous?
Best card they have to play. “Why can’t you be sensitive like we are?”
Yeah, I think I know where the smart money goes on this one.
On what basis are you skeptical?
He’s going to run the country they way he runs his mouth.
Yes … because I am quietly intensely whispering to myself “Please, please do not let this be an over-reach … please do not let this be a case where the orange moron simply expressed himself awkwardly - or that things were taken out of context.”
He is running the country the way he runs his mouth.
Whoa, so a woman’s account isn’t proof? Okay, then.
That right now we have The word of Trump, and the word of an opposition congresswoman who yes does stand to gain from this… so yeah I’d like to see this proof she says she has.
I’ll bite. How?
Old, mad, fascist Donald has this remarkable knack for turning everything he touches into something cheap and shabby and ugly, although admittedly terribly, terribly costly.
It’s not that he’s worse than the rest of the Republican Party in most regards.Like all of them, he is a racist and profoundly treasonous little anti-democrat, he is part of this red tide of anti-democracy, a servant of the billionaire boys’ club of petulant old trust-funders who don’t want to have to pay taxes or obey laws any more, and who have bought themselves an entire political party to guarantee that result.
But more than most of them (except maybe Louie Gohmert, say, or Sean Hannity) he brings a ceaseless, cruel, late-stage-Elvis vulgarity to everything he does: a puff of blue smoke, a reek of gold paint, a flash of big, showy diamonds and a constant jangling noise like the din of a thousand slot machines in unison, so loud that it almost drowns out the rumbling sound of the founding fathers turning over in their graves.
He’ll be even more tactless today…
Well not every person has the well attired “look of truth” of, say, Mike Pence, I’ll grant you.
every time I think I can’t take it any longer, I daydream about the spontaneous, massive partying in the streets all over the world when this inhuman, grotesque monster finally strokes out.
What a glorious day that will be.
I’ll give you credit for equal-opportunity skepticism and worrying that more than one person exploits military sacrifice. Not an easy position to take. Here’s the only point I’d make: A horribly cynical person in Johnson’s position might exploit this. But there’s no indication she’s horribly cynical. And think about it—if she completely fabricates such a story, and there’s any shred of evidence she did, her own career is ruined forever. There’s risk and controversy even if she’s telling the truth, but if she’s not—you see my point.
I imagine a staffer is going to lose his/her job today for allowing (i.e. not being able to stop) Trump for winging it on the phone call. He obviously needs a script for this sort of thing. We know his narcissism stands in the way of his empathy. What is just as worrisome is the inability of his brain to find words. (Example: “The death tolls in Puerto Rico are great.”) What does this problem of wordfinding tell us about this guy? I’m not a neurologist or psychologist, but I can guess it’s bad news–especially for the country but for him as well.
That’s because every day is a new day and he has to talk more loudly, to be heard over the noise he created yesterday.
Lordy I hope there is a tape.
Not that we need further proof, multiple people heard it, and you can count on leaks from the WH as well.
But plays and replays of the convo while the fuckin’ moron’s fuckin’ “I have proof” tweet on TV screen would be nice.
By harnessing anti-trump sentiment for a re-election win and/or prepping the ground for a gubernatorial run.
Either way again I feel it necessary to point out.
I FIRMLY BELIEVE TRUMP SAID THIS SHIT!
But right now it’s hearsay.
