If the Coward County sheriff deputy was afraid of a gunman with an assault rifle, a teacher with a handgun wonā€™t be?

Sure thing, Donnieā€¦

I never thought Iā€™d go to Livia for political wisdom, but ā€˜That child should have been exposed at birth.ā€™

I would really like to know why this boob thinks that arming teachers is the solution to our gun problem. Will the teachers be completely accurate when discharging their weapons? Will they guarantee that no children will get caught in the crossfire? What happens when a police officer enters a classroom and sees and adult with a firearm? This whole discussion is bordering on the ludicrous. Guns do not make the bearer bullet-proof; they more or less even the odds against someone else holding a weapon, but make no guarantees of safety. They are not carried for ā€œprotectionā€; they are carried for offensive purposes only. I hope to see more young people demonstrating against this insanity.

"Ulp! Bad ratings. Quick, pass blame to the States. Ah. Problem gone. Back to telly telly. Bring coke! Whereā€™s Burger? "

Or as they say in the Press Room: ā€œExecutive Time.ā€

This is a dog whistle to whip up enthusiasm for a Constitutional convention. Everything suggested in the name of Stateā€™s Rights is intended to break up the Union, a la the USSR.

Thatā€™s what Wayne and the NRA told him to say. You seriously canā€™t expect him to come up with these asinine ideas on his own. His mind isnā€™t that empty.

On 2nd thoughtā€¦never mind.

Another ill-conceived epiphany from the dimwit in the Oval Office.

What percentage of the public school teacher workforce in America has extensive military experience with firearms or has advanced civilian firearms training, comparable to what would be required to engage in a shootout with a heavily armed attacker in a densely populated building filled with panicking children?

Back to stateā€™s rights.

Iā€™d guess there are some but well below the 20 percent Trump was blathering about. Also thereā€™s the question of what kind of gun and protective equipment youā€™d have to have to resist a shooter like in Parkland with any hope of surviving and prevailing. Like many deluded Americans, Trump thinks a gun is a magical tool you simply point toward the nuisance and operate like a can of bug spray. He has literally no idea what heā€™s talking about, and his head is filled with shootout scenes from Schwarzenegger films and so forth. Just one more example of the mentality operating in the dull-witted, mentally ill child we have as President.

Trumpā€™s logic is a moving target (no pun intended). He doesnā€™t know what the ā€˜fā€™ he believes, itā€™s all emotional ranting.

A few months ago Josh wrote an article explaining that every time PP gets cornered he says something ludicrous to divert peopleā€™s attention. Hmm, now what could he want the MSM to not talk about?

This. But also passing the actual policy thinking, articulating, drafting enacting heavy lifting to someone else. Someone else who the NRA will take care of.

If you ever shot a handgun you know arming teachers is not a good idea.
