Somewhere in the narrow time frame between pretty soon and already happened we’re going to see intelligence from our former allies just dry up. Terrorist chatter, strategic military buildups, threats of any kind will be out there and they just won’t tell us for fear of having their own assets compromised. But what the hey, my retirement fund’s up 8 percent this year!
ETA The part about the retirement fund is an attempt at a joke. I was wiped out in '08 and am still rebuilding. The joke, to be painfully clear, is that some people look past the obvious horrors of this administration and note that they’re doing OK personally so whatevs.

The fact that our allies had to call Spanky and tell him something as obvious as this shows how out of touch with reality he is. Our biggest national security threat truly is Donald Trump.

Stories like that remind me of SNL’s skits with Will Ferrell as George Bush. I’m thinking of the one where “Bush” says “Presidenting is hard!”
Although at the time I would never have believed that we would have a president who made Bush look like a gentleman and a scholar, it strikes me that the stable genius never even considered the idea that his Hail Putin pass would ever create problems for anyone other than Mueller. It should have been the first thing out of anyone’s mouth when it was first considered, in the way that other people mention obvious but still important issues like making sure you don’t build your new garage on your neighbor’s land.

Comey fully deserved to be fired, for his deeply unethical and unprofessional smearing of Clinton that swayed the election. But that’s not why Rump fired him. This is how brownly The Rump has crapped in the pool: whatever good reason might exist to declassify this, that or the the other document, we already know it won’t be his reason.
