Discussion: Trump’s ‘Executive Time’ Puts Him Totally Out Of Step With Predecessors

Of course this is because Donald is an evi…a stable genius and doesn’t need hours and hours to learn policy, right?

I guess that remorselessly undoing your predecessor’s policy and adopting policy documents wholesale from shadowy cabals of right-wing business interests doesn’t need a lot of thinking about.

Trump prefers to get his news from Fox News as opposed to the US intelligence community.

Shouldn’t that headline read “Everything About Trump Puts Him Totally Out Of Step With His Predecessors”?

Mr Trump is totally incompetent and should not be in that office. He should be first, ringed with Democratic legislators so he can’t act, and then removed from office through legal and proper means. And the rest of us need to get off of our lazy butts and vote for sane and educated candidates.

Now is that the schedule of someone trying to keep this national safe, prosperous, and just?

Stop Laughing.

(Okay laugh - it was just a rhetorical question, because I don’t think that a significant portion of his base even thinks he is trying to do that.)

The laziest President in the history of America! Now trump finally has something to be genuinely proud of.

I wish that were a joke or an exaggeration.

This guy doesn’t know what work is. He thinks his job is traveling around the country for endless rallies to promote himself, playing golf, watching Fox and twittering away.
We, the people, are paying for this. Somebody help us if we have to endure 2 more years.

When Trump takes over there will be no predecessors.
History will begin with the Trump years, when the world began.

a rather sobering article over on Vox about that very thing. White evangelicals have gotten everything they’ve wanted from Trump, and are motivated voters. As long as they get what they want they are willing to look past anything.

There is that group. There are the 4channers who joined altright - not nec due to the whitesupremacy thing but the joy of trolling “libs” thing. I don’t think they give a damn either - except keeping folks like us roiled up. Then there are the die-hard republicans who just want to keep power for the party (McConnel, Ryan, most of the GOP in congress and state parties, and HUGE funders). Add that those groups up - and it is a very small part of his base (thus an even smaller part of the general public) that actually believe that he is working on behalf of the American people. That is shocking.

Trump is allowed to get away with this by his party.

It’s time for voters to shut that down.

Executive time is not a cause.
It is a symptom.
Like the Nuremberg rally compulsion.
And the rage-tweet compulsion.
And the all-credit-no-blame compulsion.
He’s not just different from other presidents.
He’s different from all sentient members of the human race.
And of every other species too…

Absolutely. He really doesn’t see himself as a POTUS because he doesn’t know what the job entails and could care less about even trying to figure it out. He sees himself as head of the feral trumpers adoring him around the country. Also, his IQ doesn’t appear to have ever been above-normal, coupled with significant mental health issues. As greysea points out, his base could care less about governing so they’re all satisfied.

He’s too lazy to fold an umbrella. Doing the job of president is light years beyond him.

I’m pretty sure that’s in the Bible somewhere … yes, here we are:

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

— Romans 11:33

From that article, “In Kentucky that year, which had a marquee Senate race, evangelicals were only 32 percent of the population, but they were 52 percent of the electorate.”

Must outnumber them at the polls.

I think you have just described our first “Alien President.”
