With the Papadopolous confession coming mere hours after the Manafort indictment, even though it’s a month old, I wouldn’t even be surprised to see a third whammy coming later today. Mueller is plainly drawing out hot takes before smashing them with hammers. Shock and awe and all that.

As it becomes more and more apparent that Trump will stand on anyone’s shoulders to keep his head above the rising tide, and that he has nothing to offer for loyalty, people in his circle will start to flip. He just publicly said, “Manafort who?” You think Manafort is going to go to jail for the rest of his life to protect this asshole?

I don’t think there’s any ‘may’ about it. Manafort faces a longer sentence, but this is unquestionably more important to the welfare of the United States, and intensely more damaging from Trump’s perspective.
