As has been noted, members of the NSC are tasked with reviewing the nationâs intelligence gathering inflow and advising the President on matters of significant strategic interest. As has been noted many times, they are often the ones who are called upon to give the President information that may be counter to his (or someday her) inclinationsâŚin other words, info they may not want to hear.
With Bannon now ON the NSC, you have his ideological Svengali in a position to tell Trump exactly what Svengali WANTS him to hear and as we all know (a) Trump trusts Bannon instinctively and (b) he most often makes decisions based on the most recent input he gets.
This frightens the SâŚt out of me and it should do the same for every living American who holds democracy dear.
