My question from the beginning of this issue has been, why doesn’t he release (or be asked to release) returns for years previous to the year for which he’s being audited?
I believe one of the replies was “the American people are too dumb to understand our taxes.” This was from one of his sons.
I’m astonshed The Media has proclaimed Trump the “winner” of this debate. The man is a serial liar. Everything that comes out of his mouth is either a lie or total BS. He then lies about his lies. Of course he can’t release his tax returns because of what it will show. It would be totally damning. So, he just wants (expects) us to “believe” what he says. But we know that everything is a lie. This is remarkable to me. What happened in the last 48 hours would sink any other candidate, but not Donald Trump. He can lie his way out of anything!

stayed on point". Huh? Give the perception someone won and enough dumb people will believe it.
When asked directly – “Can you say how many years you have avoided paying personal federal income taxes?” – Trump flat out refused.
“No, but I pay tax and pay federal tax, too,” Trump said, demurring on federal income taxes.

The dumb people already believe it. It’s going to take a couple days for the answer to be clearer for everyone else. Nothing happened that’s going to move the needle that much. Breitbart getting to finger wag Hillary isn’t news.
Hillary is about to the point where she can play prevent defense and run out the clock. It’s not going to look pretty, but in this case, she most assuredly did not fuck up. Trump has to catch up, and you saw how desperate a flailing he is.
The bigger point buried in all this is how fucked up America is.
His expectations were in the basement, so not hard to outperform that. The idiot journalists keep saying, there’s never been an election like this! Well of course not…we’ve never had a major party candidate with zero elected experience up there playing presidential contender. It’s a joke.

It seems his best answer is the third grade, desperate “I got nothing else” whine: “If I’m one so are you (or your husband or your donors or all guys).”
“Of course I do,” Trump said. “So do all of her donors or most of her donors. I know many of her donors. They took massive tax writeoffs.”
Well they might not pay high tax rates because of the way the laws are written, but don’t seem like many of her donors are known for a lot of bankruptcies, which seem to be the reason he’s apparently not had to pay any.
