Discussion: Trump: ‘Real Friends’ Who Are Fair On Trade, Military May Get Tariff Exemption

The Kochs? Now you’re in trouble, mister.

I wonder if people are finally catching on that Trump, now more than ever, is more than willing to screw over everyone, just because he can.

No loyalty, no good sense or intelligence, no redeeming qualities of any kind whatsoever.

and he gets in their way as they try to clarify what he just said- as they clean he says something different… does he have any short term memory?

Not arguing your other points, but the article I linked to says that Canada is the US’s largest supplier of foreign steel.

But it gets sillier (with Trump it always does) because America’s biggest foreign supplier of steel is Canada.

Trump later walked that back, saying if the U.S. is able to negotiate a better deal on the North American Free Trade Agreement, there might be room for exemptions for certain countries.

Considering what his cumulative popularity numbers are, it wouldn’t surprise me if these countries look past him and deal with whoever is the next president.

While that strategy is clearly risky, so is any attempt to ‘bend the knee’ to Trump.

He told her he would get her on TV if she would get it on with him and then he tried to get some Bro Points by going with a hooker and not paying her. That’s a big deal for the base he so very wants to admire him. But she never got on his TV show and now he is going to get slapped around by her lawyer pimp. He hasn’t figured out that he only gets do overs on his TV show. And golf.
FSM have mercy.

I’d like to impose a 6,000% tariff on every piece of chinamade shit in the arcade. $20 worth of tokens, 20 minutes of mashing buttons, for a squirt gun that’s broken on the car ride home, before it even gets loaded with water.

US- none
France- close

heh heh I know the deal seeing as I’m a grandpa to a 9 yr old.

Who ARE these ‘real friends’ Donnie speaks of? Canada and Mexico? That sounds suspiciously like NAFTA.

“Real friends” = Norway

No shithole countries may apply.

The quality of each country’s friendship will be determined on a day by bay basis by the president, immediately after watching fox and friends.

confirmed, because it prohibits NATO on the “military” requirement…

I don’t know what the breakdown of trade imports and exports are and whether this is the case, but it’s absolutely possible for Canada to be the US’s biggest supplier of steel, yet for Canada to import more steel from the US than it exports.

Simple example to illustrate this. Let’s say the US imports 100 tons of steel, and Canada accounts for 70% of that (I.e. 70 tons). Canada in turn imports 75 tons of steel, and the US accounts for 100% if that, I.e. 75 tons.

In that situation both statements (1) Canada is the largest supplier of steel to the US and (2) Canada imports more steel than it exports are true.

We have a raging personality disorder that is enabled only by a system of people and money holding him upright. He literally believes anything his thinks is the correct answer and assessment.

As much as I think I understand him in a conceptual way, the degree of his malfunction is still stunning.
