Trump is mentally ill.
As are his constituency.
Oh gosh, I’m SHOCKED! He probably listened to the BS that he had ‘reined it in’ this morning and thought ‘I’ll show THEM!!!’
Imagine how frustrating he would find being the leader of the “rigged” free world.
Last night, the folks on CNN kept talking about how Donald had finally pivoted to the general election and was acting more presidential. This was the what, 1139th time he’s pivoted?
Trump just can’t help himself.
His rallies are to get his crew fired up to vote. Someone has told him that press conferences serve a different purpose. Why is this even a story?
He can’t help himself.
I actually had a poster on another forum try and convince me that the “victorious” Trump was turning serious and was going to morph into a polished candidate that would drown Hillary.
After the bigot retweet and this, I’m chuckling. Didn’t even last 24 hours.
Uh-uh. Doesn’t have the emotional or intellectual discipline because he’s a crazy person. His degree of success in this process reminds me of the famous Popeye cartoon where Olive Oyl sleepwalks through a construction site—it’s a series of amazing coincidental factors that have helped him avoid disaster so far. And yes, I know I talk about cartoons all the time and have done it twice today.
Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder in which a person is excessively preoccupied with personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity, mentally unable to see the destructive damage they are causing to themselves and often others.
I believe an FBI profiler might look at TheDonald’s behavior and observe that “he’s escalating”.
Presidential behavior, indeed
Nice Trump we hardly knew ye…
That’s quite a symbolic cartoon! Where Popeye and Bluto are more concerned with beating each other up than they are concerned with Olive’s impending demise.
Could be applied to congress. Or to the Republicans primary season. Or possibly even to the Democrats primary season.
Neither can CNN.
You can learn a ton from cartoons. If you look into the sociological concept of “framing” you see it’s pretty much the basis of most of the classic-period Bugs Bunny cartoons, which was only winding down when the sociologists like Erving Goffman started looking into the subject. Bugs was there first. ![]()
To me one of the sad aspects of Trump, Cruz and yes even Sanders is their constant harping about the cartel, the system is rigged, Wall Street is evil, the frear and degrading of “the other” etc pays a toll. The result seems to be we would rather have Hillary because she is not as bad, she is the lesser evil. Trump likes to say “make America great again.” We are already great. We have many great qualities. Historically and currently we have accomplishments that are to be proud of. ( Let’s remember, however, others are also great.) To listen to the current discussion it would seem we are no more than the trash heap of the world. Let’s do what we can to focus on our strengths and how they interlock with the strengths of the rest of the civilized world. Let’s move away from negativism and began creating a sense of “yes I can” for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren.
…and nobody cares enough to intervene on his behalf--------because they don’t want to be cut out of his will.
Yup. I love bipolarity in a President. Never know who he might threaten to nuke on any particular day.
TPM:
“It’s a rigged, crooked system that’s designed so that the bosses can pick whoever they want and that people like me can’t run and can’t defend you against foreign nonsense,” Trump said, “and can’t defend you against China and Japan and Mexico and Vietnam and India …”
1.3 billion people in India just went, “Huh? What the fuck did we do?”
