Discussion: Trump Rails Against NYT Report About His Private Interactions With Women

My skin is so thin.

If it’s true that Trump gave reporters names of some women in the article, he obviously didn’t have a clue that they would give him bad reviews.

This confirms his obliviousness, a characteristic no nation can afford to have in a president.

If he’s so into body shaming women, someone needs to tell him to get thee to a gym!

Call me a cynic, but it seems as if the media waited until Drumpf was assured of the nomination to start running these stories.

…not that I’m complaining.

I don’t want to become the media’s Reince Priebus-type apologist, but the greater scrutiny and long articles would be there for anyone who crossed the finish line. Maybe not as much, there’s just so much that needs to be covered with Trump, but even if it had been Jeb, say, there’d be a spike in coverage.

Everyone is laughing at the @nytimes for the lame hit piece they did on me and women

Projection much? Everyone is laughing at YOU.

That’s what’s so creepy and spooky with this guy. Every communication seems to describe a fantasy world, a delusional world. And I’m not kidding. I don’t think he is either. :grimacing:

Exactly that. I wasn’t kidding either when posting the previous comment…

“Where’s the Birth Certificate?” Donald is starting to get a taste of his own medicine. And this is just the beginning.

Well, they have held back on Bernie Sanders too. If Bernie had clinched the Dem nomination, imagine how many pieces we’d suddenly be seeing about his palling around with Trotskyites and Sandinistas. And about his out-of-wedlock child and his unique views on teen sex and pornography.

Agree, but with Trump you can be sure it will be lurid. On Rachel Maddow Friday there was a story—I think it was the lead up to the story about him posing as his spox. It was about him back in the 80s promising to donate Art Deco sculptures to the Met and demolishing one and losing another. I thought that story was worse than the spox story. Spox story makes him sound like egotistical fool (not news). The other makes him sound like ISIS or the Taliban.

That was when he tore down the Bonwit-Teller building to build Drumpf Tower. Not just sculptures, but bas relief panels on an Art Deco gem of a building. And the contractors were Polish workers illegally in the country.

Here’s an excellent article about it

Maddow’s coverage on this was excellent, and I can attest as a former New Yorker who strolled and sometimes even shopped on Fifth Ave. how very beautiful the Bonwit Teller building was. It was a landmark built in the 1910’s, and it was this sort of cavalier treatment of NY icons that led the media to begin trashing him, short fingered vulgarian being the most prominent.

@antisachetdethe

I remember this building fondly. As to holding back coverage until the right time, your’e correct. People in general aren’t tuning in as avidly as we are. He’s the orange face of party. Deal with it.

I do too. I remember the wonderful mens department there.

At this rate Donnie is going to have a falling out with every major news outlet,.who is going to give him daily attention fix?

Personally, I think the guy loves this kind of coverage. He’s fed his ego on trashing women over the years, privately and publicly, and sees it as his job to weed out what he considers inferior “product”. Needless to say, his objectification of women didn’t begin just yesterday. Notice that the media is barely talking about how he is no longer going to provide any of his taxes for public scrutiny before (and most likely after) the election. That’s something every nominee is expected to do as its most baseline form of vetting of a Presidential candidate. Now, its “none of [our] business”. Yeah, that happened too this week and it quickly died in the press as a problem worth scrutinizing, unlike this hangup he has over women. He’s a fucking Lecher.

I guess when you have to shift important news with regards to tRump, you have to shift big and swing for the rafters…even if its towards another negative type story about him. How he treats women has been a staple of his campaign throughout the last several months, so this account comes as nothing new in my estimation. I read the article this morning and thought, tell me something I don’t know…However, providing his tax returns is something he now suddenly won’t do under any circumstances…and yet I don’t see the media concerned one wit about that. If he can run a non-traditional campaign and be given all the excessive free media he can get, apparently he’s also allowed to get away with not having to provide traditional information without any serious attempt to hold him to any standards. That’s the story that they should be writing.
