Discussion: Trump Promotes His Scottish Golf Club, Which 'Also, Furthers U.K. Relationship!'

I do realize that. All of it - I know we outnumber them, too.

He is down to the evangelical core of his base. They won’t desert him which is fine - they can go down with him and they are getting pushback and losing congregations, mostly younger members.

Yup, I do see this as the knock-on effect and welcome it. Pity this all takes so much time though! :unamused:

I know.

I thought we’d be rid of him by now. I should have known better - government never moves quickly.

That’s basically it. The way I see it, the R’s know they’re about to face a demographic collapse for their party going forward. Their best shot now, is to continue packing all the courts with ultra-conservative judges, so they’ll have a defense against librul Democrats if they take the Presidency in 2020.

As long as Trump doesn’t rock the boat too much, they won’t bother replacing him with Pence. Who would be just as pliable, but they’d like to avoid any additional drama that could threaten vulnerable R Senators getting re-elected in 2020.

It took 2 years to get rid of Nixon and that was ok. But i was a relatively young man then. I cannot afford that kind of time now.
Edit

I hear you. If it was up to me he’d already be gone. As it is, we may have to vote him out.

I am not so sure of the ballot box anymore after the Electoral College going sgainst 3 million+ Hillary won by in the popular vote and voting trump in.

I have one thing to say in response to your electoral doubts: the midterms.

You seem to be floating in the anxiety that Putin created. You don’t trust any part of how this works anymore - just what he wants.

You’ve got to have some faith. If you can’t have faith in our institutions, then you’ll have to have to faith in the people. That’s the only way democracy can stay alive - people believe that it is possible for people to govern themselves. I realize Putin has done a real number on Americans, but we can and will get out of here because the vast majority of it us wants out and this is our country.

Parochial? He said that? Mom–Donny called us parochial!

Exactly! That’s exactly why there’s nothing wrong here-- he’s handed it all over to the boys, has nothing to do with it, is too busy doing executive time.

They just have to claim that Trump praising a business actually harms it, so what’s the problem?

I am just under a boil at the moment. At trump.
I want that bastard to suffer.

I know you do. I actually think he is.

He fucking well ought to be.
Like in my recurring dream … I want to see him destitute…living out of a stolen shopping cart. Turned away from a soup kitchen. My anger was generated after spending the morning feeding poverty stricken folk with bags of veggies and fruit. And I come home to donald crowing about his fucking golf resort… What’s he done for the vulnerable besides throwing throwing kids in jail and deporting the parents and then purposely losing the kid in the fed system? Yeah, I am red hot angry at him.

I know you are and I’m sorry you don’t have an actual outlet for it. I don’t want to see it eat you up. He isn’t worth it, darling.

One OT bit…
N. Korea has their major reactor at Yongbyon, N.K. It breeds plutonium from uranium (I don’t wanna get technical here). That site is also their weapons fabrication site. At least it’s the one we know about publicly. Kim was ready to close it all down and raze the site in exchange for a partial lifting of sanctions.
trump walked away
No after deal dinner
No handshake
No summit paper explaining things.
Just a snub.

I guess the BFF shine has worn off their “love”.

I am surprised, I guess, that he didn’t blame Obama and Hillary for the failure.
I think trump went to Vietnam with zero preparation. It would be his usual method. Deliberately not listening to anyone’s advice was a sure recipe for failure.

Indeed it is. Anyone who thinks it makes sense should be presented with a hypothetical: the President emerges from the White House with an AR-15, and proceeds to gun down several dozen tourists on Pennsylvania Ave. Can he be arrested? Can he be tried? If so, then clearly there’s no Constitutional impediment to criminal prosecution of a sitting President. Or is there some sort of sliding scale? Are felonies graded on a curve?
