I am a Montanan and I was horrified, first, by the fact that Republican Greg Gianforte laid hands on a reporter and assaulted him, but, second, he lied about doing so until reporters (from the local Fox station, ironically) called him on it. It is entirely consistent with Greg Gianforte’s personality to be so craven as to gladly accept support from Republican President Donald Trump. Gianforte is a man of situational ethics: He will support a lying, misogynist, racist moron so long as Gianforte’s self-righteous moral reality is advanced. He has surrendered all claims for being a Christian man.
