Thereâs only one way for the government to ensure that everyone in the United States has health insurance that is better than Obamacare, and itâs called single payer.
Go for it, Trump.
âWe are doing them a tremendous service by doing itâŚWe are doing the Democrats a great service,â Trump said.
Thanks. I was really tired of being able to go to the doctor.
'17 is going to be a bad year alright. As well as '18, â19â, '20. Catastrophic.
He offered âfew detailsâ because he has no fucking idea how the ACA may be repealed and replaced. Dump, Ryan, Turtle, etc. have acted for years like the ACA is the worst thing ever while the taker states that form their power base have benefited disproportionately. Legislators, governors, congresspeople, etc. are shitting bricks right now while they try to figure out how severe the fallout will be if the Repukes actually kill the ACA without a meaningful replacement in place. They have the tiger by the tail and they canât let go.
If he or his advisers had a real workable plan he would have said so. His lack of any specifics let alone actual ideas was a dead giveaway that he has nothing but hot air on this - and so many - topics
Trump doesnât âdoâ details, he was under the impression (faulty) that his employees were covered by the ACA. Buffoon!!!
âSeventeen is going to be the bad year. Itâs going to be catastrophic.â
Trump is finally right about something.
âYou are going to be very, very proud of what we put forth,â Trump said.
Well, then Iâm sure that the plan wonât satisfy me, because I wonât be happy with any plan unless I can be very, very, very proud of it.
The answers to making better and cheaper medical services delivery and payment systems are out there in many variations in all the other advanced countries.
One interesting thing is Trumpâs talk about prescription drug prices, which he blabbed on about for some time in his usual simple minded way in the presser. Heâs right. We have been making bad deals. All those other similar countries pay around the same prices as each other (some even just link their prices to some other countryâs) for drugs, a price which is 2 or 3 or 4 times less than we pay for exactly the same thing, usually from exactly the same company.
The reason is the âweâ donât make deals. Even Medicare was explicitly forbidden to negotiate drug prices by REPUBLICANS. Is Trump going to establish a system of national drug price negotiating? With Trumpâs awesome great deal making skill we should soon be paying LESS than anyone else.
Drug companies in the US get to make a little change in a drug and get a new patent, or pay off potential generic manufacturers. Because Freedom. Is Trump going to go Socialist on this too?
Drug companies also are allowed to advertise their prescription drugs on TV, internet, and print, unlike in almost all other countries. Because Freedom. Is Trump going to end this and institute more Socialist regulation?
Maybe he isnât aware of any of this, but it takes an act of Congress to do much of anything, including these. Will Republicans suddenly turn around and vote for Socialist drug pricing and Socialist market rules? More likely they will end all the costly onerous useless unAmerican anti-free market FDA drug regulations instead .
@emjayay - VP-elect Pence is from Indiana and is an Indiana pol through and through. Pfizer, Lilly, and a slew of other drug companies are headquartered in Indiana. Donât expect Dump to go socialist on drug pricing anytime soon.
So the donald, who from what I can tell knows nothing about anything but self-aggrandizement, is going to solve the medical care delivery problem that has not been solved (Obamacare is a good start) since before I was born: I am at best dubious.
ButâŚbutâŚhe just SAIDâŚ
