Discussion: Trump: People Should Consider 'Suing ABC' Over Botched Flynn Report

What kind of sick, psychotic, Russian operative did Republicans put in the White House?

And forward onto the bejeweled emails.

This tweet basically warned folks about what was coming

Now the obvious q was what was he gonna say. After he ‘said’’ his piece and I stopped grumbling about news orgs now wanting to properly call ‘balls n strikes’, it was somewhat easy to find examples.

Strangely, the Boeing story was the easiest thing to nab.

Hey, just wait for the day he writes: I’m leaving this shabby White House early because no one appreciates the fabulous things I am doing for the American public. LOSERS!

Only loosely related - but expect more examples to come rolling out. Seems Trump has found “loopholes” to Kelly’s
“discipline”:

I met a young man this weekend who is employed in running political campaigns. He said he was told by someone with direct knowledge that Ryan had contemporaneous knowledge of the campaign’s involvement with Russia. If true, that will certainly come out before too much longer. May they all go down in flames before this is over.

Everyone whose home equity and retirement savings were wiped out by the financial meltdown that caused the Great Recession, should sue every bank, investment bank, insurance company and ratings agency that ever touched a mortgage back security. Everyone who worked at Goldman Sachs, Chase, Citibank, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Lehmann Bros, Wachivia, Countrywide, and every other firm should be permanently blacklisted from all government employment or contracting. No Wall Street executive should even be considered for Treasury Secretary or any other political appointment.

I wonder this a lot myself. I think of the John Lennon song “How do you Sleep”? directed at his former partner. I marvel at their powers of compartmentalization and often wish I had them myself. I speculate how Ryan rationalizes what kind of world his children are going to grow up in. McConnell has no children; how convenient.

Here’s my question for you policy people: Can we undo this tax monstrosity? I know it will be difficult. But, is it possible?

So are John Barron and John Miller, the occasional trumPP personas.

Frankly, I get nauseous after more than 280 trumpp-issued characters, but it’s no way to communicate or to govern. He’s the only one who thinks it is.

He is going to resign to spend more time with the family because he has accomplished more in 10 months than any other president accomplished in eight years.

I think your compartmentalization idea really capsulizes it. I know I’m capable of really, really callous thoughts about things I haven’t decided to be empathetic or just caring about. I try where I can, I try not to actively harm anyone, but I can’t do it all. I guess they just extend that apathetic feeling to dismantling the entire social safety net. Oh well, it’s not sustainable, has pernicious effects, got to go. If people starve the local food bank can help; if they need health care they can get a job that offers it. Not my problem. Not gonna think about it.

I just needed to think my way to a place where I can imagine doing that and not feeling like a monster. Was causing me cognitive dissonance not to be able to. Thanks.

  1. Kelly is in so many ways, worse than Trump

  2. Regarding the loopholes, Trump is basically the equiv. of a studious monkey now.

My brother is a shrink. He also, while a funny, smart, and lovely guy, has very little empathy. It’s a professional hazard in some jobs - one would think not in people elected to help the public.

he has three kids with his first wife.

Oh well, never mind. He’s just a psychopath then, the usual explanation…

We could have a great conversation in a real-world setting about the importance of empathy or at least the theory of mind to having a moral imagination. In some way you’ve got to be able to at grasp that other people have an existence as real as your own, and the same rights you do. I’m sure your brother is there by some route, although professionally it probably is best he doesn’t feel everything other people do. But the GOP, they’ve done that callousness thing, they’re just turning their backs on their own fellow Americans.
