Well, we know how diminished GOP leadership “hearts and prayers” are.
After all the shit and insults Spanky McTraitorface aimed at McCain over the past three years, it’s the rankest hypocrisy for Trump to express sympathy at McCain’s death, and for him to expect anyone to take it seriously.
Senator McCain’s family has my condolences. I didn’t agree with McCain on much, but I maintained some respect for him.
Trump, on the other hand, can go to hell.
It’s a shame he couldn’t be with them at this difficult time, so he could express his concern and caring in a more tangible way.

For future reference, a more accurate description would be: “A tweet posted on Trump’s account says … blah, blah, blah.” Especially in the absence of misspellings, grammatical errors, random capitalization and multiple exclamation points.

Probably not, but, to be fair, I suspect even Trump is capable of typing out the most anodyne and cliched of funereal bromides, which is what his tweet basically amounts to.
Not Trump: a man who can’t think doesn’t have thoughts.
I’m not going to say what’s “worse” than expressing hostility and disdain by omission in a condolence note to his damn family. Very few things are worse than that. But it adds to the infuriating nature of it that he thinks he’s being clever, that he thinks he’s crafted a note that would fool everyone when it fools nobody but himself. Brit Hume criticized him for this and I imagine there will be others on the right.
