Discussion: Trump Opens Voter Fraud Panel Warning Of 'Very Large Numbers ... In Certain States'

Yes, you should let the police search your car when you were pulled over while driving the speed limit and obeying all traffic laws. After all, what do you have to worry about?

And, yes, you should let the military police enter your home and look in all your closets and drawers without a warrant or provocation, because, after all, what do you have to worry about?

This is how dictatorships operate, not open societies.

He’s a direct threat to freedom. He’s an enemy of the Republic. He must be removed from office.

Kobach will come with nothing more than buckets of bs. If he uncovers any facts, they will be insignificant and/or irrelevant, and will be presented to the people in a totally biased and subjective manner … but that oughta suck in lotsa Trumpsters.

Our officials in charge of elections (all at the state level) are already furious about what the “panel” is doing, but Trump ignores that and is going to push them over the edge.

Voter fraud panel: A non-solution in search of a problem. Other issues facing the country: Ignored or the ball is dropped. Republicans = Losers who cannot govern.

“This issue is very important to me because throughout the campaign, and even after, people would come up to me and express their concerns about voter inconsistencies and irregularities which they saw, in some cases having to do with very large numbers of people in certain states,” he said.

"I won't visit Paris" Jim really needs to quit messing with Trump's head.

Here it is. The Dems should use this quote every day in every way. It reeks of irony.
“If any state does not want to share this information, one has to wonder what they’re worried about,” Trump said at his brief appearance at the meeting, which took place at a government building near the White House. “And I ask the Vice President, I ask the commission, what are they worried about? There is something, there always is.”

Always a great idea to start an investigation with the conclusions, and work backwards from there. Sure to bring an objective result.

So far he’s proven that the overwhelming majority of voter fraud is committed by Rethugliklans. So there’s that.

You mean like if a guy runs for president and he won’t release his tax returns, he must have something to hide?

Once again our whack-job “president” has his head up where the sun don’t shine!

His demagoguery just continues to ratchet up. It’s like that episode of “South Park” with the pooping competition- just when you think the mountain of crap coming from him couldn’t get greater, it does. It’s the one and only truly superlative thing about him. And like “Bono” in that episode, he really is just pure sh*t.

If any [candidate] does not want to share [his tax returns], one has to wonder what they’re worried about,” Trump said at his brief appearance at the meeting, which took place at a government building near the White House. “And I ask the Vice President, I ask the commission, what are they worried about? There is something, there always is.”

I thought I might change a few words here and there to see how this sounds.

There is no point in pretending that this Republican assault on voting rights isn’t real, and that it isn’t going to happen. This is why John Roberts–a man who first made his name in Republican circles as a voting suppression specialist with the Reagan Justice Department–has used his position as Chief Justice of the Republican Court to grease the skids for targeted voter suppression.

Ever since 2000, when a strategic purge of the voter rolls in Florida got the race close enough to steal–and so the Republicans stole it–they have understood how easy it is to manipulate outcomes by making voting overwhelmingly difficult for key Democratic constituencies.

In some districts, it’s only a matter of a few hundred votes here, a few thousand there, and reactionary Republican candidates are practically guaranteed election even without bringing in the hackers and the more complicated post-facto tactics of electoral fraud.

Everybody who is registered as a Democrat, or who lives in a Democratic-leaning district, and especially those who live in Republican-dominated states where Republicans control the system, should check their registration status now and periodically every few months between now and the 2018 election. Take a picture of your current registration status. Keep it on your cell phone.

The national Democratic Party had better stop playing games and get real, too. The dark money Republicans have a 35-year head start, and they’re getting close to the finish line while Democrats are still arguing about whether it might look too radical to put on their running shoes and get into the dang race.

…claiming he’s heard concerns about “very large numbers of people in certain states” involved in “voter inconsistencies,”

I read this line and I just couldn’t read any further…Sorry.

Ummm…what tRump said…total BULLSHIT.

Notice how he parses or qualifies why this is important…He’s not stating any facts or giving any particular weight to how real those claims are…he’s just going with this thing because he feels it might be true and therefore we have to do something about what he feels…even though most experts on this subject have already called this commission a farce, with its only intention being to suppress the vote and collect data on every voter in this country. Data-miners galore, with the imprimatur of the federal government, with the executive branch supporting it 100%. Forget privacy. Talk about your Big Government under GOP one-party rule.

Moving on…because this is the kind of empty-headed bullshit by this clown that gets me soooo fucking pissed.

What the media needs to do together is demand this clown have press conferences like every other head of state on a regular basis, and answer their questions because for all the bluster, he is a public servant and must answer to the public through the only means we have available…a free fucking press. Covering him like this, the way it is now, is maddening.

” while also suggesting that states that so far haven’t turned over all the voter information the commission has requested had something to hide.

OK, one more comment on this bullshit by this clown…

How do you spell “irony” again? I think I got that right.

The commission’s vice chair, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach ®, proposed to Trump and his transition team legislation to amend the National Voter Registration Act, and the Justice Department has signaled it will be pressuring states to undertake aggressive purges of their rolls.

By what authority can the Justice Department purge American citizen’s Constitutional Right to vote? T rump Kobach, and Sessions appear to be in love with fictional fantasy, and using their powers to justify a preemptive attack against the rights of American citizens.
