Discussion: Trump On Travel Ban: 'Vindication' After 'Hysterical Commentary' From Dems

I feel much the same as on the day the Supreme Court halted the recount in 2000.

Dotard, the historical commentary on your reign of blithering, grifting, incompetence will be, by far, the most hysterical commentary.

The only silver lining is that Dems will be more motivated than ever to unify against this horror show and vote them all out.

Right?

Right??

Oh, I’m almost certain that the “Purity Brigade” of the “People’s Front of Vermont” will be out in force and noising among us.

I hate him. I hate him so much.

Oh, and Donny, we all know that Stephen Miller wrote this statement. All you could manage was “wow.”

If he won more often, I would quite literally have to kill myself.

Problem isn’t motivating Democrats. It’s motivating Independents who don’t necessarily vote Democratic – and don’t necessarily vote. Can’t win without them.

Tongue and cheek. If we’re getting travel bans with ethnic animus and Internment camps can we also get the a modern version of the good parts of FDR’s New Deal legacy? Some decent public works, labor rights and enhanced Social Security wouldn’t be bad.

yeah, the end-zone spike and dance is the worst part of this today. I think a news break is in order.

On one hand it’s better than that since the ramifications are not as disastrous. On the other hand, this is a mind-boggling decision, and if we think this is bad, wait until Kennedy announces his retirement and Trump or Pence further stacks the court with another right-wing idealogue.

Question: wasn’t the original, even-more-blatantly bigoted travel ban time-limited, e.g. for X number of months while they pretended to do something or other? It was supposed to be an emergency measure while they “improved our vetting” or other processes, yes? Hasn’t that time period expired? So this travel ban should expire too, regardless of the blessing by our right-wing SCOTUS, yes?

They’d have to use the 51-vote nuclear option for another Trump nominee, but I guess that’s a-okay these days.

If Trump shot that person on 5th Avenue, this Court would find that despite the extrinsic evidence about his proclivities (his statement about doing exactly this), it could plausibly be found and reasonable be understood that the shooting was an act of preventive self defense.

What I am still astonished by is that the Democrats have not made actions like the Gorsuch appointment a rallying cry, along the lines of the Jacksonian rallying cry of the Corrupt Bargain after 1824. Talk about corrupt bargains . . .

I really agree. If the Democrats had pulled a stunt like this, they simply would not have been able to sustain it from the RW outrage machine.

Days like this, I sure am glad I voted for Hillary :two_hearts:. No kidnapped and abused children or bigotry gnawing at your conscience.

I am so happy that Trump’s wonderful ban doesn’t prevent anyone from Saudi Arabia from entering the country. I mean, when have any Saudis ever wished to do harm against our nation?
