Discussion: Trump On Business Conflicts: You Knew About This Before The Election!

As my mother used to tell me when I was 6 years old; “That doesn’t make it right.”

And oh by the way, I seem to recall that Hillary Clinton won the majority of the vote, so obviously people did see a problem with this and a whole lot of other things like racism, sexism…

Since many folks voted their hate, I am sure they didn’t take Trump’s business conflicts into consideration. They don’t give a damn.

So… when he asks female reporters to change into bathing suits, that’s ok too?

Prior to the election it was well known that I have interests in properties all over the world.Only the crooked media makes this a big deal!

No, not yet they haven’t.

Many people would like to see @Nigel_Farage represent Great Britain as their Ambassador to the United States. He would do a great job!

Might, just might, want to print the response of 10 Downing Street:

But a Downing Street spokesman said: “There is no vacancy. We already have an excellent ambassador to the US.”
Nigel Farage would be great UK ambassador to US, says Donald Trump | Nigel Farage | The Guardian

Guess that person doesn’t realize that the UK does not make political friends and allies ambassadors. The UK appoints career Foreign Service professionals.

yeah basically and he is not wrong on it…so all of those that voted for him, sat out, or voted 3rd party the shit that is about to go down its all on you

Yes. I knew about this before the election. That is one reason Trump is unsuitable for the office. Another reason is whatever personality defect that makes him tweet every gripe and grievance that crosses his mind.

Has anyone explained to him that this isn’t a matter of us knowing about it before the election, but rather the assumption in some people’s minds that he would, I don’t know, follow the $%##@*^ law! The GOP is going to be able to impeach this man practically from day three on corruption charges and he blythely ignores it.

Where’s all the people who were bleating like drunk goats about the Clinton foundation being evidence of corruption?

I expect they will be AWOL from TPM,
thinking “the kerning wasn’t a problem, dammit! It wasn’t!”

Which, btw, is why most foreign countries have had fewer problems with their ambassadorial staff than the US has. Back in the 1980’s, I believe it was, an ambassadorial staff member was discovered having sold secrets to a foreign government. When he was asked to explain why, he stated, to the effect, that he was at the top of his profession in the US, he had no further job promotion perspectives, and he was tired of having to babysit idiots who got appointed to the job for donation money to the President and who didn’t know the first thing about the country they had been given.

I can’t wait to see which very qualified person becomes ambassador to my country of residence. Maybe Christie? That would get him out of the way!

Exactly. Either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump was going to win this election.

It would be interesting to know how many of those voters are secretly wishing for a do over…

Well, in some cases it’s because they got their paychecks and have no need to come into these forums any more. MSNBC did a bit about people who got paid to troll the internet forums in order to gin up votes for Trump.

He’s already exceeding expectations. We’re already a corrupt 1970’s Third World kleptocracy, and it’s not even January 20. On track to Caligula-like megalomania by February.

Congress is either going to be pushed into resistance by the lack of a real opposition combined with the institutional pressure built into the Constitution or it’s going to meekly submit to his domination and turn into a rubber stamp Reichstag as long as the Kochs get what they want out of the bargain.

All of which, of course, is perfectly normal.
