Discussion: Trump Offers Retired General Michael Flynn National Security Adviser Role

We have been waiting for trump to implode since June of 2015. It hasn’t happened yet…unfortunately. By rights his 1st comment out of the blocks should have sunk his candidacy but it did not. Calling a group of people rapists and ciminals usually isn’t a sensible tactic when asking for their votes and yet some 30% of Hispanics voted for him.

The reason he is “retired” is because he repeatedly appeared, IN UNIFORM, to give unauthorized speeches to ultra-right-wing-Christian groups about the dangers of Islam and how the West was in a “Holy War” with “All of Islam” a “demonic political ideology masquerading as a Religion”. (He also has appeared on Moscow TV along with Putin and has given paid speeches in front of Oligarch Groups in Russia repeatedly.)
He was warned many times about the Pentagon rule that does not allow ANY active service member to engage in ANY kind of Political action while IN UNIFORM and was finally “encouraged” to take “retirement” as a result.
This Fucking Religious Lunatic is going to be the National Security Adviser?
Holy Shit.
That is like the King of Saudi Arabia asking the head of ISIS to be his Military Adviser.
This is just the start of the Lunatics running the Nuthouse, and seems to be devised EXCLUSIVELY to placate both Netenyahu and Putin as Flynn has repeatedly stated he wants to Nuke Iran and let Putin retake both Ukraine and the Baltic States.
Weep for America.

Actually, “lie” isn’t that good either. It has an intentional component, which requires a judgment, and all judgments can be faulted. Further, we all lie all the time to keep social life going (How are you? Fine.), so there’s a complicated system of moral assessment behind the use of statements that are not true. And a complicated spectrum of natural language terminology, with “lie” standing at the far end. To say “lie” is to insult. Hence the ineffectiveness of such language during the campaign.

It’s best to stay in the objective world: ‘false’ and its relatives are much better for that.

Will “bullshit” work?

The seriously disturbing part of this, that the media seems to be completely ignoring, is the the combination of his deeply friendly ties to Putin, and his past record of sharing national intelligence with whomever he likes.

This is about as close to a Russian coup as it comes.

Good. No good will come of this appointment. It’s patronage for all to see. He might last a year, probably less, will erode our relationships with countries essential to our fight against terrorism and in the and will get a lot of people killed. That’s what he’ll do.

If Romney is appointed as Secretary of State, that should help. He thought Russia was our biggest threat.

It looks like Putin got his guy.

Post Truth
Truthiness taken to the next level .
It doesn’t even need to sound “truthy” any more
Bold face lies will do just fine

It seems that anyone who was associated with that guy should have difficulty getting a security clearance. No doubt Putin has his twitter account well-fed, which is not to say there isn’t enough of that stuff produced domestically to keep him well-stocked.

To communicate much beyond anger or contempt – no.

This is what I was talking about…

The press is running wild with who Donald is picking for what spot, and its based on absolutely nothing. Romney is NOT going to be SoS. Donald is clearly putting loyalty above all else in choosing his administration and Romney definitely doesn’t fit that description.

He is meeting with Donald as a mea culpa, not as an interview to be SoS.

Wasn’t he removed as Director of Defense Intelligence because he proved to be a Russian loving security risk?

Well, at least President Trump will be getting nothing but fully vetted facts and well-reasoned analysis from his National Security guy.

Aren’t all lies contemptible?

It’s not starting out so well today methinks.

“No, there are no Jews hiding in my basement, officer.”

“No those pants don’t my your bum look larger.”

At Thanksgiving dinner in Michigan: “Of course I voted!”

If, by some chance, Flynn were confirmed, he would most likely take Rump’s positon that NATO needs to start some of “reciprocity”. I’m taking that as some sort of shakedown. If we were to leave NATO, the Baltic States and then Western Europe would be in the direct sightlines of Vladimir Putin.

The biggest lie from White Midwesterners, “Race had nothing to do with my vote.”

Rural whites midwesterners voted for Obama and not Clinton because they were racists?
