Weird how he emerges from the fog of dementia and narcissistic self-mythologizing when the topic is “People who can fuck my shit up.” And when he says “I’d love to run against Pocohantas,” I hear “I’m a little nervous that even if I give her a racist nickname that scary lady could really take my bedsore-speckled ass apart.”
He’s not wrong.

I’d love to see it. Especially if Warren began her opening statement by saying “We can judge how unfit he is for office, any office, by how long it takes him to resort to his fallback position on literally everything: Name calling.”
What a sad, pathetic spectacle he has made of everything.
His assessment of the race is pretty accurate, but it is very early. I do see Joe fading. He just doesn’t seem to be aware of how the country has changed. Warren is very, very impressive. Sanders helped himself with his full throated defense of democratic socialism the other day. Harris is still in the mix. She has a lot going for her.
I agree and HRC pretty much reduced him to goo - but it didn’t matter. None of it matters with him. People HATE him and will still vote for him because of their money. I know two myself. This is the biggest problem. They’ll put up with anything for their bottom line. Not much we can do about it.
It’s true that Hillary demolished him, too. It’s also true that it wouldn’t matter for most voters – even “undecideds” – one way or another, and that the voting dynamics are mostly set in stone by now. Either enough of the smallish margin of the GOP base that’s squicked out by his antics will come home (and they always come home) to overcome us and the distribution of those voters will save his degenerate ass, or it won’t.
But I could see Warren’s charisma, smarts and message activating our base much better than Hillary did, and I think the dynamic between her and Trump would offer a much sharper contrast. The people that think she reads like Hillz – bossy, haughty biatch who will make many of the menfolk recoil and exclaim “YOU’RE NOT MY MOOOOOMMM YOU CAN’T TELL ME WHAT TO DOOOOOOO” – miss her Oklahoma twang and her happy warrior vibe.
It’s not just that she would slay him. It’s that she would slay with total sincerity, folksy charm and a wicked smile on her lips.
Yes, he’s known for calling out the obvious. Insightful this is not.
Tightening of the race is expected at this stage. Same as reshuffle is expected after failed performance at the debate. And yes it is more than not likely that the candidate for president will come from the top 3 candidates now. But somehow it’s a revelation from his mouth.
This is vintage Trump. Insulting people while stating the obvious so the media can repeat it and people can say “he’s not wrong” while forgetting the insults. Because he’s Trump.
For the record, the fact that Obama didn’t take Biden off trash heap should be rather obvious to anyone able to remember 2008. Reminder to the rest of us: not winning the primaries doesn’t designate anyone to trash heap. However, media and the GOP do take Trump off trash heap daily. And his nickname for Warren is not demeaning to her but is to all in the media and in politics in general who don’t call him out on it every single time. And I can go on and on.
So, no he’s NOT right. This is as far from right as one can be. And he can shove his pseudo-analysis of the situation to you know where. It’s a waste of time.

I think he is an election or two early.
I think the modern Pocahontas should take the nickname and run with it. Being compared to Pocahontas is an honor. After all, Pocahontas was a great [native] American. She was the first identifiable women [i.e., not “Liberty” or “Justice” or other allegorical women] to appear on our federal currency [on the reverse of series 1863 $20 National Bank Notes.] And I think some prominent Virginia families still revel in being descendants of Pocahontas.
I know because it was the same trash heap I crawled out from under.
And the only thing the morning show pundits would talk about the next day is how he threw her off with his stalking around behind her while she talked - she’d better have some zingers locked and loaded. Maybe just walk over to his podium and something like “well, if you aren’t going to use it”, or maybe just look at him, then the moderators and say “Well?”
