Trump is following in the foot steps of Senate & House Republicans in assigning important committee seats to the dumbest chairs or the most ardent opposers of what those committees are supposed to represent. Energy chairs totally in the tank for Big Oil, SEC oversight by a chair who opposes Dodd/Frank and the CPSC. HHS to be dismantled by the Republicsum chairā¦good God, the list is endless!
I do hope that those uncommitted voters see the tragedy that will unfold if Trump can name any SC nominee!
Trump could give two shits about Mike Lee for anything. This is about messaging past him to his tribe of tea party/liberty wing folks that Trumpās āwith themā. Itās a crass grab for votes is all. Iāll bet most tea party voters donāt even hear about Lee refusing to endorse the cheese puff.

Trump's a bit remiss in leaving Texas and Georgia off his list, since apparently it's going to eventually number in the thousands. Why not just start listing states, instead of bothering with individual names?There are good reasons why candidates with any pretension to seriousness donāt do this. Starting with the absence of any vetting of the people heās named.
