Discussion: Trump: My 'Tough'Immigration Policies Could've Prevented 9/11

Clearly…Donald’s RETRO-SELF. back in the good old days in NAZI GERMANY, he would’ve done a much better JOB than HITLER…

Of course, Atta wasn’t immigrating. He was here on a visa. So is Trump saying that not only will he stop immigration, but nobody can visit the USA anymore either? No more students, no more tourists, no more conducting business…nada. Does it also include expelling everybody attending the UN? Remember all those Asian business men that Trump totally deals on? Yeah, they don’t come here to buy NY real estate anymore because they aren’t allowed in the country.

And that, blew me away. Look, I get that today’s journalists by and large, are not the sharpest tacks in the box, but how can she be so completely ignorant of the biggest news event of her lifetime??

This is not a spin thing. W. was president on 9/11/2001. He repeatedly ignored warning from multiple sources that Bin Laden was determined to attack within our borders. Its a fact that after receiving one such warning he told the source “Ok, you covered your ass now”.

So A) Bush was indeed President, which is what Trump asserted, and B) Bush absolutely ignored warnings of an attack coming, leaving us vulnerable to precisely such an attack.

Usually you can suggest asking the speakers themselves when this sort of thing isn’t clear, but IMHO with Trump that’s useless too because he has no idea what he means, in the sense of its being a worked-out policy proposal. If you pressed him he’d just change the subject. It’s a skill possessed by everyone who’s built a life around being an ignorant blowhard. In this way he’s a bit savvier than Palin. She’d try to bullshit her way through with a mishmash of hazily misremembered facts. He just blows the whole thing off as not mattering—just give him the job and everything will be fine.

Trump merely started with Latinos. He has been steadily expanding his net of “anti-Them” ever since. Next were Asians (remember his mocking of Asians doing business?), and now Arabs. And it will continue.

Trump’s campaign is not about some big worry concerning Mexican immigration. Its about appealing to the low information white man, that he is losing ground and he needs to fight back and do something about it. Because of “Them”. So anyone who isn’t “Us” is fair game, and will eventually fall under his attacks.

I think that is statement in this case was just so blatantly stupid, that it sort of stunned lil Georgie. Similarly with Carson’s statement about “petroleum independence” would have forced the “moderate” Arab states to turn over Bin Laden, hiding out in caves in Afghanistan.

Because the follow up to that question should have been, “So you are declaring right now that if elected President you will make American oil independent?” Let him own that statement and watch how quickly his campaign implodes.

Thanks for the correction. But I do think a traffic citation or even an accident would not have led authorities to assume those guys were a danger to the country at that time.

The MSM has had and will have a lot of “should have asked” moments.

There will be, of course, riposte from the the organs of communication favoured by Progressives (like this site).

But the genius of what the Right has achieved with the MSM is that the “news” is now so politicized that a valid appraisal (by journalists plying their wares on outlets not yet completely controlled by Oligarchs) of the filth flying from the G.O.P. is now located under the umbrella of “partisan attacks”

“Partisan attacks”, contrasted with FOX propaganda. And made “equivalent” in political discourse.

The MSM, which achieves their goals by butterknife questions (or not asking “should have been asked” questions) to G.O.P. politicians, still occupies their position as creators of social reality.

Unasked-should-have-been-asked-would-have-been-asked-could-have-been-asked questions and all.

A far FAR more dangerous animal than is commonly recognized.
