Doesn’t hurt him personally, does it? Trump is only concerned about Trump.

It’s simpler than that. Remind people of the Bible: No man can serve two masters. That’s all that need be said. Well, almost all.

Succeeding? Some of those racist white people are going to be hurt big time, along with plenty of other Americans.

I couldn’t care less about his stubby little middle finger. He’s a threat to America.

Watching clips of that bizarre “rally,” it occurs to me that a president who lies, offends and insults every day is exactly what Impeachment was designed for.

It is not complicated - China feels that they can wade into water that is deeper than Trump can … and if submerged, they can hold their breath longer than he can…
plus - - the more Trump behaves like the village idiot - the more other countries will look to a calm & stable appearing China as a potential working partner.

Trump is driving other nations into China’s arms - China just needs to be patient

Well, Ms. Riga did mention it obliquely.

President Donald Trump pulled out all the stops at a Thursday rally in Great Falls, Montana.

Nicely done, Ms. Riga, Nicely done.

“Let” her jump?

He’d have pushed her off if he were there.

Daniel Dale follows Trump rallies closely and is in a position to draw these conclusions.

Local news outlets won’t save us.

  • there are thoughtful dedicated reasoning patriotic individuals

  • and then there are flag-waving jingoistic xenophobic, nationalistic bigots who have co-opted “patriotism” - people who embrace “My country right or wrong” as meaning “My Country is never wrong, and is innately better than every other county in history - ever” Trump is forever trying to cement his bond with these assholes.

The larger quote is important.

"My country right or wrong.
When right, to keep it right.
When wrong, to make it right.’

Instead of the press reporting this shit to us (or at least, in addition), they should be asking every GOP Congressman, every single day, what he/she has to say in response.
[/quote]“Senator McConnell, what do you have to say about Elton John’s organ and the president’s lack of one? But, more importantly, what do you have to say about the president being obviously batshit crazy?”

The narration of this story is in itself normalizing.

It is not normal for presidents to organize rallies in the middle of nowhere unconnected to whipping up support for pending legislation or a coming election, where the only purpose is to engage in self-praise and heap calumny and derision on entire swaths of the citizenry. It is not normal for a president to actively praise the leaders of nations committing acts of war against us.

It is not normal for a president to praise himself. Shows of humility and self-deprecation, pleas for the help of God and people have been mandatory since Washington regardless of the actual size of the presidential ego.

It is not normal for presidents to openly traffic in anti-democratic ideas, symbols, themes, to publicly demonize elected officials. It is not normal for Congress to subordinate party to institutional power in the face of massive presidential overreach.

It is not fucking normal for presidents to wear black in July unless there’s a formal or a funeral.

Despite our best efforts, we are becoming accustomed to the actions, dress, behavior, and symbols of one party dictatorship, to the point that they are being institutionalized.
