I realize that while Trump’s wives were pregnant, he was out groping other women, but come on! Trump doesn’t know the difference between an abortion and a C-section.
I’m surprised this topic hasn’t gotten more play. Anyone who has read or studied Roe v. Wade knows that the case holds that the state’s interest in regulating third-trimester abortion outweighs a woman’s right to privacy. No state allows third trimester “abortions.” If the woman’s life is in danger in the third trimester, her doctors do everything they can to accelerate fetal development, and when they can’t hold off any longer, she has a C-section.

He lied
-
His policy would criminalize C-Sections.

Profit!
"The procedures that can be done in the third trimester include:
Induction Abortion: a rarely done surgical procedure where salt water, urea, or potassium chloride is injected into the amniotic sac; prostaglandins are inserted into the vagina and pitocin is injected intravenously.
Dilation and Extraction: a surgical abortion procedure used to terminate a pregnancy after 21 weeks of gestation. This procedure is also known as D & X, Intact D & X, Intrauterine Cranial Decompression and Partial Birth Abortion."
NOW that I have provided definitions of late term abortion, why don’t you look up “intrauterine cranial decompression” and enlighten yourselves. He didn’t lie. This kind of procedure should be a crime. Period.
Mr. Trump claimed that abortions are done within 4 days of a due date, even up to the due date, i.e., at full-term. He’s wrong. And your cut and paste about abortions done at 21 weeks reveals that you don’t know what a third trimester is and how it relates to viability. A 21 week-old fetus is not viable. The surgical procedure done to deliver a live fetus after viability is called a c-section, not an abortion.
And if a “late term” abortion is necessary to save the life of a mother, which is the only time it is ever indicated, you or the government shouldn’t get to decide that she dies and the fetus lives (as if it could). THAT should be a crime.
These procedures are second trimester only. If you want to condemn something, use accurate details. Not that this should be condemned; the women who have to under go such procedures find them as terrible and tragic as you do.
Oh my dawg.
You just demonstrated why the education to become a doctor takes so long, is almost impossibly intensive, and the entire process aims to weed out people like you.
Pregnancies are 40 weeks long–not 21. Learn your math. Roe v. Wade does not grant a woman a right to kill a viable fetus on the last day of pregnancy! Fetuses are viable at earlier and earlier dates, and once viable, few doctors would consider aborting them absent either a condition making their continued life likely, or danger to the mother’s reproductive health. I personally met a woman who never guessed she was prtegnant and when her gall bladder burst, they rushed her through x-rays before surgery, killing the fetus. She and her husband were heartbroken. I guess yould force her through painful labor to deliver a dead baby on top of her gall bladder surgery or a c-section leaving a scar on the uterus which is weaker than surrounding tissue… This is why only doctors have any place working through the details with the mother. Politicians have no right or purpose to get involved.
As for the procedure for partial birth abortions–it was never intended to be used for simple abortions. It was developed for the rare situation when a fetus either has a condition where the skull is terribly enlarged, as in hydrocephaly, where a vaginal delivery could seriously injure the mother, the baby will never survive anyway, and doctors want to preserve the uterus’ strength for subsequent pregnancies. It was feared that c-sections weakened the uterus. I am not a doctor–I don’t know it that concern is now allayed, or what. But that and the condition where the baby’s brain develops outside the skull is why partial birth abortion was created. Medically necessary abortions because of terribly deformed babies (believe it or not, women do not go through the rigors of pregnancy when they don’t want the baby! I have only heard of one case other than the above, a young teen raped and only aware of her condition late term, trying to injure herself…a judge had to decide that case–no doctor just rips apart viable infants! You have a hell of an opinion of doctors and women!).
Women would travel from far away to Colorado to have this heartbreaking procedure–they wanted the baby and only discovered this anomaly later in the pregnancy. They wanted to try again to have a family. Disreputable people misused the shocking elements of this procedure to further their political campaigns against any and all abortion, never caring what pain they caused to women who lost a child they wanted. You ought to be ashamed of your behavior!
