Discussion: Trump Met With Smattering Of Boos, Protesters At Football Title Game

My understanding is that he stood there like a dummy for half the song because he doesn’t know the words.

Quelle surprise.

Jeezus H. Christ. He can’t even pay attention for the length of a football game? I suppose all those “documents” were crying out to be read.

I, for one, get a bit teary eyed inagining his painful journey back from his bone spurs that was necessary for him to make that walk to mid-field. Sure, it looks easy enough to us, but what we don´t see are endless therapeutic walks to and from the golf cart that he´s had to endure over the decades just to get to this point.

Grit!

I’m sure that Trump will reiterate what he said about the Iranian protesters to those who boo’d him: ‘Their voices deserve to be heard. We encourage all parties to protect this fundamental right to peaceful expression.’

“Months after wading into the culture war over protests during the anthem, the president was greeted by tens of thousands in Atlanta with cheers and a smattering of boos.”

If you can clearly hear booing from a crowd of over 60,000 people, it’s not a “smattering.”

Based on the one clip I saw (admittedly it was a brief clip) I don’t even think he knew where he was. He looked confused

It made it to the German news too.

“Does Trump not know the US national anthem?”

“We are going to show respect for the National Anthem again…by not remembering the words.”

I bet the fucking moron thinks that his being at the game raised the TV ratings by a few points, which besides the cheers is the thing he’d think about.

SHS spent the night planning what to say to defend that debacle:
–The President was pleased by the positive welcome he received at the football game last night
–The President was saddened by the fact that the crowd booed the members of the armed forces
–The ovation was huge. The largest and longest ovation ever received by a President at any event ever.
–It’s ridiculous to suggest that the President doesn’t know the words to the national anthem. Anyone with any intelligence at all could see that he knew all of the words and could hit all of the notes.
–The President supported both teams, but really, the reason Alabama won was the President’s support.

Who knew lyrics are so hard?

The game started past his bed time.

He didn’t give a shit about the game, it was just a political stunt about the anthem.

@dickweed Gee. Who’d do something so transparently low as that? Oh, wait…At least he lasted longer than Pense, when he pulled his anthem bit.

He didn’t have anyone to order him to leave. Video of it if interested. I like the way he keeps patting his chest, like he’s about to put his hand down then remembers he’s supposed to keep it up there till the song is over.

I had people tell me with a straight face that Alabama would lose because they elected a Democratic Senator. Guess their God is non partisan.

I think he wanted a really large adoring crowd and couldn’t get one on his own.

Yes. That’s exactly what happened.

He showboats like a fascist — complete with ROTC, flags and pageantry — and then fakes his way badly through the song, for everyone to see.

I’m embarrassed to a be a member of the same species as the Dotard.

Too bad it was only college football, or he have also been met with a “splattering of booze”!

Better people than Donald Trump have blown the lyrics to the Star-Spangled Banner.
