Discussion: Trump-mentum Not Stopping Yet: The Donald Leads GOP Pack In New Poll

Discussion for article #238301

Of COURSE it’s working with the Base. They LOVE this shit!

It’s when they apologize or try to explain that candidates get into trouble.

PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE let this asshole get the nomination!

Too risky. All that needs to happen in early November is someone “exercising their 2nd amendment rights.”
I’d like to see a National poll that shows Trump head-to-head against ANY other candidate.

PollCats…Where would we be without them?

15% is leading, but not enough to say it is working, especially when his supporters don’t think he will be the nominee – it is “safe” to support him now even if you don’t think he should be the nominee.

Took a quick glance at the complete poll results. One thing that really stuck out was Huckabee’s support by age groups. He cleans up in the 65+ bracket, with a 25% share of their responses, but gets only 1% in the 45-64 group. He does mid-to-high single digits in younger groups.

Derpy Donald’s poll numbers: Amurikkka’s racism litmus test.

That would still be too close for me…

That said, I’d like to see him stick around for a while and saddle the eventual nominee with the mess left in Trump’s wake.

Trump is a small ant in a field of tiny ants.

And when polling Republicans, there needs to be a follow up question on their motive for lying.

The Donald is a looking glass into the base of the Republican party. He speaks their truths without filters. Please keep him on the TV and ask him anything!

In other news, it turns out water is wet, film at 11.

Let’s knock off the derogatory comments about “that thing on Trump’s head”.

It’s legitimately registered as a service animal, so give the poor man a break.

Trump says out loud and forcefully what many of these Republicans think. Jeb Bush and the others come across as weak-3 weeks to criticize Trump-they are a bunch of cuckolds to Trump, Carly included.

I do not believe in prayer, but if I did I’d be praying this guy gets the GOP nomination for the sake of the future of our Supreme Court and freedom from religion.

I think Trump’s popularity is the same with others as it is with my brother. He roots for him knowing he will never make it, but he’s just fun to watch.

Trump is tapping into the SAME anger that George Wallace did in 1968, 1972 and 1976.

At that time it was anger over the belief that liberals and Dems were giving away the store to blacks and minoriites and ignoring “people like us”. Nothing has changed.

Immigration might have been a little less an issue than it is now, but otherwise nothing has changed with that anger that lies just below the surface.

That was my political coming of age. I was so naive I could not understand why anyone would support someone like Wallace.

Boy, did I get an education that is continuing. In NJ where I lived at the time, blue collar types would actually say, “Those [N-word] are gettin’ too damned much for nothing”.

Especially when they start competing for spots on the debate stage and folks like Cruz and Walker realize this type of rhetoric is a prerequisite to get a spot.
