Discussion: Trump May Throw Goodies Into O'Care Repeal Bill To Appease Conservatives

Goodies? It’s a swamp thing, y’all… Fill the swamp with goodies…

So, let me get this straight, “throwing out goodies” makes the bill worse and even more draconian.

So, then, in order to please the mob, moving up the date of a prisoner’s execution and changing it from firing squad to being burned at the stake would likewise be “a throwing of goodies??”

Conservatives want to kill you. Their supporters are the people we’re supposed to “reach out” to. I guess a Louisville Slugger does add a little reach, I’ll go with that.

The changes could include moving up the date to roll back Medicaid from 2020 to 2018 or moving up other changes to the insurance marketplace from 2020 to 2018, according to the report. [/quote]

You know, I really fucking hope they do this. 100% of the House is up for re-election. This brings the effects from “someday” to “holy crap, it’s gonna hit me right now.”

2018 is gonna be quite a year.

Ahah, it’s not “conservative” enough ? That’s the problem? Good thinking, right there !

If he’s doing it to appease conservatives, do you think it’s going to get better for the majority of Americans?

I tend to agree, though I am still very skeptical that this thing gets out of the House. And zero belief that it gets out of the Senate.

But, I am all for them moving up the dates to land on an election year, if it does pass. Because that is a ballsy move. Stripping people of healthcare months before an actual election? Its like going all in while you only hold a 2, 4, 6, 8 and face card of different suits. BALLSY!!

Come on, these are rich people, at least a cruise-missile or a nuke past the ‘best before’ date

Trumpie is in full “gotta win” mode (and fueled by his incredible hatred and desire for “payback” to Obama).

He doesn’t care that this is a trainwreck. He even doesn’t care that people may hate him for it. This is personal.

I hope people across the country are at least seeing/reading the headlines today.

His fatal flaw. Well, one of them. I don’t care which one takes him down.

Oh, I agree 100%, even if it makes it out of the House, the Senate will kill it.

However, it does move the discussion up to “omigod, next year”… Which should help Dems.

I thought that under Drumpf, there was no such thing as “amendments” to DrumpfDon’tCare?

one thing Cheeto Donnie probably learned REAL well in the building trade… it’s cheaper to buy’em off than actually fix things…

This has got BANNON writ large all over it. @ralph_vonholst totally nailed my sentiments when I read it. I was just gobsmacked that anyone could be this stupid politically. But, then, I realized this is Bannon’s way of destroying government as quickly as possible while Rump has no political ideas to offer and has no idea just how it would destroy his own supposed Party. The fact that Bannon would take down the GOP establishment is equally double good for him.

Tomorrow, in Nashville, Donald will explain everything to a crowd of millions… After that, peace will ensue,

The Hermitage had a full day of events previously scheduled for the date. The Hermitage was expecting 3,000-4,000 visitors Wednesday, said spokesman Jason Nelson, though weather could vary the amount.

Half-price admission was scheduled Wednesday for Jackson’s birthday.

The grounds will now be closed to the public and will reopen Thursday with half-off admission.

Tickets and tours purchased for Wednesday can be redeemed for admission Thursday, and tour groups can reschedule with another preferred date, The Hermitage said in a statement.

A Machiavellian view of such proposals is to turn TrumpNoCare into a bill that can be filibustered. This would let the Senate Democrats bail out the GOP by filibustering the bill. Is this possible?

Such a “win” would be Pyrrhic for the GOP, since they would get swept from office and single payer would be feasible.

Making it more palatable to conservatives only makes it less palatable to the sane members of the caucus…praise Durga there are still a handful of them in the Senate.

@lizzymom I disagree. What we’re seeing now is the Trump reassurance to his creditors moments before he declares bankruptcy. Ryan is just another rube who was willing to invest his life savings.
