Whatever they do, or how they do it, their goal is chaos for as many as possible, except the 1%.
As if Trump’s lawyers know what cost-sharing is…
Legislative captures the executive on this. They’ll recommend the lawyers to bring in for the exec. Just like oil companies recommend/appoint the regulators.
Is that photo from today or yesterday? Trump looks a bit out of his element.
Did Ryan and the House Republicans run this move by the Trump team before filing for the delay? Or did they just assume the Trumpsters would have no idea or understanding about the issue? We can be sure that whatever bad happens, however many millions of low and middle class are hurt, Obama will be blamed.
Or wait until an alternative plan is also ready to blunt some of the damage of an Obamacare repeal, and hope that the caucus can come together on a replacement?
They have an “alternative plan” already; get sick, and die early. This is going to be a real shitshow, my friends. The transition team is far too busy figuring out how to divide the spoils and make his supporters rich to worry about little details like this. Watch the wolves fall on each other in a few months.
No doubt the feral trumpers will blame the previous adminisitration. The one thing to keep in mind in all of this is that the ACA was a gift to the health insurance industry. From day one. Without the cost sharing aspect on this, the industry stands to lose millions of dollars.
I really do believe that by the end of 2017, we’ll be seeing the beginning of “voucher care.” With that in mind, I don’t think the insurance cos. will allow the ACA to be dismantled. They need to the revenue stream and they won’t be getting it from elderly people coughing up cash for privatised health insurance.
I have a more or less orderly way of doing it. Repeal the Medicare payroll tax. Levy a tax on all organizations equal to 5% of unadjusted gross revenue. This includes “non-profits.”
Then, on year one, open Medicare to everyone under 25 or over 60.
Year two, open Medicare to everyone under 31 or over 54.
Year three, open Medicare to everyone under 37 or over 48.
Year four, open Medicare to everyone.
Hey I really like that idea !
Who’s your lobbying firm?
How much cash do they have?..
Have you targeted the Senators and Reps to pay off ?
Have you figured how to give the insurance companies a cut?
Oh…I see
Never mind.
“If Obama had not made health care affordable for millions of poor and working class Americans, they would not have gotten used to it and we would not have had to take it away, ruin their lives and health, and cause chaos in families across this nation____because the rich need more tax breaks and we can’t afford both, that’s a given. So__ THANKS OBAMA!” ___ The Republican Party
I think it’s a good thing that we will finally put this issue to rest. The GOP has everything in place to dismantle the ACA and proceed with it’s own ideas, they own the issue whatever the outcome.
th nazi sure sounded sure of himself regarding the ACA while campaigning…as did the repigs while they were certain they would never actually have to face a repeal…due to veto…so…what this tells us is they are not prepared to actually face the consequences of ending the ACA…more details then that…will come dripping out…in the coming days, remember we have already seen repigs pushing back on other issues…mccain…paul…graham…the nazi…is not well liked by his own party…and my guess is…he wont be making any friends…anytime soon…not ALL of them are as repulsive as say…sessions…even if you disagree with their policy.
The dollar has spiked since Trump won. That will hurt exports and cause some job losses and contraction down the road. About 2 million healthcare jobs have been created under the ACA. Hospitals are no longer eating huge emergency care losses due to uninsured. Taking an ax to the ACA and its expanded Medicaid, will mean the loss of those 2 million jobs, but also some more as the sickest Americans lose coverage and are no longer getting care.Hospitals will go back to bleeding money via emergency room care and will have to pass those costs on. There have been 15 million jobs created under Obama. http://money.cnn.com/2016/10/07/news/economy/obama-15-million-jobs/
The tea leaves don’t bode as well for Trump.
Ryan giving Trump enough rope to…
It’s almost as if they had some specific reason to believe it was no longer possible for them to lose an election.
Initially, Trump thought his own employees got their healthcare through the ACA. That shows the depth of his knowledge of so-called Obamacare. He only knows how to rail against something!! Sad (as Trump himself would say…).
You give them too much credit.
As we know, Obamacare repeal has noting to do with health policy, even a more “free market” vision of it. They’ve ridden into power demonizing Obama and his signature accomplishment so, with the real goal accomplished, they may settle for just enough tweaks so they can rebrand the program and claim they’ve “repealed and replaced” Obamacare. Then they can get on with the serious business of looting the country on behalf of the 1%. IMO, this would be the “smart” way to do it to preserve and build the white-supremacist base, but God only knows if they’re that smart.
Since Republicans don’t give a shit if people are insured or not, they only have to worry about how to spin their depredations. They’re counting on their many media shills to cover them.
…claiming that the U.S Treasury is unconstitutionally spending money on Obamacare subsidies to insurance companies that haven’t been appropriated by Congress.
These are the same bastards who like stealing from Social Security monies, mind you.
