Good point. That’s not the kind of picture that suggests any wars are imminent. And talking about the military is Trump’s substitute for having big hands. Long story short, nattering endlessly on TV about how wacky and silly the new reality show "He Said WHAT?" is minimizes the seriousness of our situation. But the reporters still have to file a story when he says weird, cryptic, vaguely threatening stuff. If he reads his shopping list they have to report it. Just in the nature of the job. He’s not a C-list reality star any more, alas. : (

Pictures are worth some number of words, I forget how much, but it’s a lot because that picture is not scary, and when I read the words last night it was pretty chilling. This is him pulling wings off flies.

Well, as in the case of his “hints” during the campaign, thinking he was going to get (“I love it!”) dirt on Hillary that did not materialize, we can only hope.

I just read the same story in WaPo, and as someone whose premiums will be increasing at least 60%, I’m not sure why this story isn’t plastered everywhere. Every Democrat should be screaming about it. Forget guns - they’re a lost cause, at least for now.
And what is the big mystery with this motives of the shooter? I know why he did it: Because he could. Guns for him were toys; he wanted to use his toys on the ultimate targets and, bored by his money, spent all of his energy devising a plan. Okay? Now can we move onto millions of Americans who are going to lose their healthcare?

Maybe he is organizing a “Military Coup” that will place him in power as “Supreme Leader”?
He will get a huge surprise if he attempts it. The US Military takes an oath to protect the US Constitution from “all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC.”

I wish I were that confident. We’ve seen examples of how parts of ICE and law enforcement are all in. Not too hard to imagine there are factions withing the military that are too.

I have a theory about the Demented Dotard Donald and his antics. He seems to be deliberately provoking and armed conflict with N. Korea, and with Iran, as well. He has verbally trashed the US relationship and standing in the United Nations and NATO. Peaceful relations with anyone in the world is now not in the best interests of the United States. Behind all of his self-created international clusterfuck is his domestic clusterfuck, which could very well cost him his job as President. He seems to be incapable of retaining anyone around him who will commit both the loyalty he demands, and who has the political savvy to actually be of any practical use to him. He knows his situation is fucked, and that his time is limited. So, to prolong his time in office, and to retain as much power and authority that his position as Commander in Chief affords to him, he has decided to go scorched earth. His intention now is to start a war with either N. Korea, or with Iran, or both, in the hopes that this will consume everyone’s time and energies to support the war effort, thus making him THE essential component for the US’s efforts in whatever war he creates. He must strongly believe that congress would, under no circumstances, remove the Commander in Chief during a time of war. This belief would stand regardless of Mueller’s investigations into his criminal and treasonous activities with Russia. His strategy is to create such a clusterfuck in the world that everyone is trying to contain the damage of what he started, leaving him alone to create even more damage to the world. This will be his legacy, and he’s damned proud of it.

In the end, it doesn’t matter. We don’t know if he was fabricating for the sake of attention or referring to something we won’t find out about until it happens. Either way, the risks are unchanged and no plans for my day or week will change because of this. There is no preparation one can take for a complete unknown.

I share the desire to urgently be rid lf this dark entity occupying the White House, masquerading as a man. However, the responsibility and duty lay with the Republicans in congress, not in a military coup or via any other illegitimate means. The Founders fully foresaw the possibility that we might one day elect a would-be tyrant (if not an psychopathic S.O.B.). As a result, the Constitution unilaterally empowers the congress to boot such a President immediately from office. President psychopath, himself, cannot help behaving psychopathically - fish are gonna swim, birds are gonna fly. More disturbing is the now clear evidence that the entire GOP is dangerously, hopelessly dysfunctional. Yes, the entire party, from it’s elected leadership down to it’s irrational base.
Meanwhile, the Democratic party’s leadership can’t find it’s collective butt with both hands. No clear election strategy, no clear vision for the future. As such, I’m currently expecting we won’t win back any part of congress in 2018.
