Discussion: Trump Looms Over Georgia Race, Even As Candidates Rarely Speak His Name

I sure hope he wins. If people can get past their ideological constipation they will see that he is truly the better and more qualified candidate. Handel is just a train wreck.

This election is a referendum on Trump in a highly educated “Red” Congressional district in Georgia. If Ossoff wins, this will begin the process of stripping away Congressional Republicans from Don the Con. If Ossoff loses, Trump’s sycophants in Congress will continue to support him.

It’s that important, and is why I gave Ossoff $50 (not a princely sum, but I live in another state).

Handel is the wretched soul who lied her plus-size ass off about the Komen for the Cure scandal when she almost single-handed cut financial support for Planned Parenthood. She is a right-wing extremist who would love to fully criminalize abortion and end access to birth control as well. Of course, she’s wealthy enough to get her own abortion (if ever needed, but who would be desperate enough to impregnate her?), so she can deny reproductive services to millions of women nationwide and still know she’s covered. What a sea-cow and a harpy.

Trump Looms Over Georgia Race, Even As Candidates Rarely Speak His Name

Not sure about this one… Handel may not mention Trump’s name, but Ossoff? He pretty much have been mailing us a photo of Trump every day for the last week or so,… that ought count.

Handel wanted to end funding for breast cancer screening by a foundation whose sole purpose is to fight breast cancer because Handel herself is offended that Planned Parenthood also provides family planning counseling and contraceptives, STD screenings/treatment and GASP access to abortion services.

Handel turned what was an internationally known foundation into a political football and it will never recover. I know of no one who still does the Race for the Cure, nor do I know anyone who still donates to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Thanks to Handel, though, I became an automatic monthly donor to Planned Parenthood.

Ossoff better take her down because her agenda is anti-woman, anti-freedom, anti-choice.

Between this tonight, Michael Rogers tomorrow, and Comey on Thursday, I’m not getting anything done this week.

Don’t put it like that or they’ll go for Handel.

Handel is just an old GOP battle-axe who offers herself for office whenever there is an opening. She has served as Fulton County (Atlanta) commissioner, Georgia Secretary of State, and has also ran unsuccessfully for Governor, US Senate, maybe more; not to mention her disastrous short tenure at the Susan G. Komen Foundation. As a resident of the Atlanta area, I am not sure what her appeal is, except for possibly name recognition. Even when she manages to attain an elected office, she never stays more than a complete term. She is one of those perennial candidates who pop up whenever there is an opening, often leaving their current position to attempt to ascend the political ladder. I hope we send her back into her overfed suburban obscurity, never to be heard from again. Her semi/whole embrace of trumpism should hopefully doom her latest attempt for office.

Pious wingnuts from the midwest are popular in the 6th. People around here come from somewhere else, at events at my girls schools chatting with other parents, the ones that weren’t from India, were mostly from MIchigan or Ohio. Rare to come across someone with southern accent. And it seemed like every other teacher graduated from Ball State U in Indiana.

I posted, because Pence is becoming Trump’s ‘Winston Wolf’.

Pence’s #'s are better than his boss’s and it will be interesting to see if they translate when campaigning in that district.

Rubio easily won the district, an establishment-friendly swath stretching from east Cobb to north DeKalb, in Georgia’s March 2016 presidential primary. Donald Trump’s struggles in the Sixth– he barely edged Hillary Clinton – have given Democrats hopes they can flip the seat.
