“Don’t be paranoid.” Oh jeez.
This story just gets worse and worse for Trump’s lawyers.
Are they planning their next strategy session in the lobby of the WaPo??
Or are they building up the incompetent legal representation defense, because its all they have?
When you spend your whole life stiffing people the money they’re owed, you end up only hiring desperate failures and fellow fraudsters. The idea these people are planning this stuff out is absurd - these are drunken idiots.
Only in America is there an Electoral College ready and willing to prove the Peter Principle.
There goes any privilege claims. They both just exploded lawyer-client privilege.
Some on Twitter were putting forward the rather charitable theory that maybe Cobb’s indiscretion was some master plan to rat out McGahn
But most saw a hugely problematic moment for Cobb and Dowd
Or both. Those two things are absolutely not incompatible.
Oh yes, and this is hilarious.
Reminds me of how Shepard Smith got “outed.” Got drunk in a piano bar and tried to pick up the editor of a gay newspaper.
I don’t think this was a mistake, but you’re right. That whole “attorney-client privilege” thing is just a suggestion for these guys, I guess. Remember, Trump hires only the best people.
I’m sure that there are many things locked in a safe, including their sense of judgement.
Yeah because this is the exception to privilege -= when you let the information out into the public like this.
Well, to be fair… these are the best of the attorneys who would agree to take the case.
Exactly, which brings me to the conclusion that this was no accident. I wonder if a letter to their respective bar associations might be in order…
Yeah I tend to agree it’s no accident unless they are the two most clueless lawyers ever.
Letting the days go by let the water hold you down…
Since the conversations were overheard, Presidential privilege has been violated, and lawyer-client confidentiality has been broken. The investigation must end.
No, what’s she saying is that you can’t claim privilege if you’ve freely given away the information. Sitting in the middle of a restaurant discussing a case can revoke the right to privilege. Now, the court would take into consideration any harm to Trump, but once the info is out there, only in certain circumstances can you claw it back. You certainly can’t in the press.
