IMO they meet and discussed when and how to leak the info that Russia stole already, the timeline for that fits, and with every bit of new information that comes out it just keeps supporting that.

What drives me nuts is that it seems to be conventional wisdom that “nothing came out of the meeting”. Based on what? DoJu’s assertions? Veselnitskaya’s? Kushner’s? Manfort’s? Come on, are you really actually putting stock in anything any of these people said? Every single thing they have said has been a lie so far!

I’ve been reading reporting that says the Democrats are successfully recruiting women and veterans of both sexes to run in 2018 against incumbent, entrenched and ultimately useless House Rs. It would take too long to find the stuff I read, but it gave me hope. The Rs are writing the attack ads every day, making D’s job easier.

It’s astounding that Don Jr. still doesn’t appear to understand the basic problem with this meeting. To him, the meeting was a failure because (he claims) it was unproductive of dirt. His insistence on sticking with that approach is truly remarkable.

You’d think that Trump and his kids could at least run a mental simulation of how their “enemies” (the rest of us) think and what we believe, but apparently that’s beyond their capacity even when it’s a matter of political survival. They’re fundamentally alienated.

trump knew about and encouraged this meeting – of this I have zero doubt. What is up for question is whether or not he will own up to it or whether he is going to let his own son and namesake take the fall for him. Surely Kushner is out too – and if he lets him go down, will Ivanka stick around? Its like watching a two bit production of King Lear…

Sunday’s SF Chronicle had an article stating that during the 2016 election cycle, Emily’s List was contacted by 900 women looking for advice/support to run for political office. Since Trump’s inauguration in January, they’ve been contacted by 13,000 women – and most filing deadlines aren’t for at least another six months!
