“It’s a 747, but you know, it’s a much bigger plane,” Trump said when asked about the type of plane. “It’s a much bigger wing span.”
Yeah, big, bigly, biggest!
First grade show-and-tell
A variation on US Airways blue and red with a white top?
I hope this project is slow walked long enough that the next real President can reinstate the real Air Force One artwork before it’s delivered.
If not, I’d be willing to support a go-fund-me to repaint the planes ASAP as trump is gone.
As the Red Army was advancing towards the heart of the Reich, Hitler still spent time tinkering with Speer’s architectural models of the new Berlin, called “Germania.” Good way to spend his time, since it didn’t do anything to prolong the horror of his reign. I’m perfectly happy to have Trump spending his time with his coloring set.
If only congress would step in to ground his other aspirations so quickly.
He claims he made the designs himself.
He received the best grades ever given in Wharton's elective "Graphics Design" class. Many people say so.
The President of the United States is a 7 year old child.
I wonder if he’s back to his Trump Shuttle misadventures. “Ix-nay on the arble-may!”
And when ENRON was crashing, Kenneth Lay, the CEO, was busy selecting carpeting for the new corporate Gulfstream.
Red, white, and blue–damn, how clever do you have to be to think of that? Show me the modern president, business leader, township manager or mother of school-age children who ever had time for crap like this. And he did the same nonsense with his famous Trump shuttle: tinkering with little decorating elements and having to be told the fixtures he wanted would add a huge amount of weight and chew up fuel because that’s kind of an important thing in aircraft design. Fucking moron indeed.
And the big brass door handles. He’s incapable of learning, he really is.
ETA I shouldn’t have time for this myself but could someone who does know aircraft design comment on WTF he’s talking about with the wingspan crap? I believe 747s come in a number of configurations but it seems unlikely to me the Air Force One planes have larger wingspans than any other. Why? And is it even feasible to have a custom-built overall design? About 173 percent certain this is his usual ignorant bullshit.
Sure, Fat Ass. I used to love it, too, when my Ma used to buy me a new box of Crayola Crayons. When I was seven years old, of course.
And then he pulled out a book of fabric swatches for his chair and asked George, “I’ve got it narrowed down to two. Which one do you think compliments my skin tone better?” Stephanopoulos demurred.
He’s not completely wrong. The existing AF1 aircraft have a 196-foot wingspan. The new one is a 747-8, which has a 224-foot wingspan. It’s not unique to AF1 - that’s just the latest incarnation of the 747, being built for various passenger airlines and cargo operations. Longer range, larger capacity, etc.
A possibility. Fuel is stored in the wings. The wing design may be slightly altered to allow for more fuel capacity, on the theory the plane might need to stay aloft in a national emergency longer than a typical commercial passenger jet.
an insult to 7 year olds everywhere…
Dang, you beat me to the “looks like a commerical airliner now” comment!
(At least I know it’s not just me…!)
Well, yeah, like I said. I just questioned whether those particular planes could vary in something as fundamental as that from the others in that configuration. You’d have to redesign the wing and then work out all the other implications for stress, maneuvering, everything, it would pretty much require a total redesign I’d think for a benefit I can’t imagine. As usual Trump heard something and his rapidly deteriorating brain completely garbled it.
No, no, no, you’ve got it all wrong. It’s longer, wider, everything because it’s Hair Twitler’s!!
All that other stuff you just said about it not being unique to AF-! is just fake news!
Marble bathrooms are a must.
